Agreed. He'd be my top choice for veteran QBs. I still don't think they cut him though. Mallet and Savage are still unknowns
Glennon can be had for a 5, or at worst a 4. I'd rather have the better QB than a combo of the inferior QB plus the equivalent in Jet land of Jeremiah George or Jalen Saunders.
I am fine passing on both Glennon and Mallet. But adding Locker or Bradford would hurt the franchise.
this QB position is so depressing - in some ways I wish the NFL were more like soccer where there are always a host of good players available for every position if you have the money to spend.
I just read a report that the Bucs want a 3rd for Glennon (on my phone, too much effort to link). I think I'd definitely do that. The third round is about where we'd take a guy like Petty or Hundley to develop and I'd rather have Glennon. His experience makes him more attractive to develop.
For those who feel Glennon is capable competition and could project as a starter, would you make this trade: Quinton Coples for Mike Glennon & a 6th or 7th round pick. Bucs likely need at least one starter at DE for their 4-3, where Coples is a much better fit. He's shown some progress here, but it's been a struggle and he hasn't stood out as an OLB yet. Jets gets a legitimate QB and instead opt for LBs who fit their system via the draft and free agency
Glennon is still a much better prospect than anyone in this class outside of the top two. Plus he's already played well as a starter in the NFL. Would much rather trade for him than draft a QB on Day 2 or 3
Neither.. they are both dog shit. Jets are better off rolling the dice and drafting a QB that doesn't already have at least 1 strike against them from a failed NFL season.
I've been watching a ton of Glennon and I'm really warming up to the idea. He's absolutely amazing at standing in the pocket and delivering strikes while he's taking brutal hits. If we can get him for a 3rd I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat, then go OL or WR at 6.
If we are going to make a trade the most realistic trade I could see happening would be the Eagles trading Foles and there 1st rounder and 3rd rounder for our #6 pick. And the only way I see the eagles doing that Is if they %100 know titans aren't taking Mariota. From Macs standpoint he is a "build through the draft guy" What better way than to get an additional pick. We could use the eagles pick to select either Jalen Collins CB LSU or Landon Collins S from BAMA, just don't know how stingy MAC is going to be with his picks. Is he going to trade away a 3rd round on Glennon? I would because I don't see a QB being taken in the 3rd round with more potential than Glennon
Absolutely terrible trade. The Jets don't get enough in return for the #6 pick, and then you blow the pick we do get on yet another SS or a CB who isn't that highly rated.
I know right, can you imagine if we made this trade, there would be an uprising. Ugh Foles and a third to move up from 20 to 6? Try Foles, next year's first and second, this year's first and second and 2017 first. That's about what the skins traded to move up a couple spots.
I would do it in a heartbeat, but I would try to offer a 2016 3rd instead of one from this years draft. Maybe a 2016 3rd and 6th or 7th
