WHile the idea of flexibility is appealing, meaning the Jets could go BPA, I think if Mariota falls to 6 the Jets should take him even if they've already signed Bradford.

Which, again, I don't see happening.

Again, yeah, so Smith would be better than Cutler. Heh!

Let's shoot down any and every scenario that would threaten Smith's status as the Jets' starting Qb.

Going into camp with Bradford, Mariota and Geno Smith is not a bad idea at all. That way they can afford to sit Mariota for at least a year while they play Bradford. If Bradford gets hurt they have Geno Smith to play out the string while they continue to groom Mariota.

That is the best possible scenario going into the season.

Sam Bradford may seek trade; Rams GM Snead wants him back
By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

    February 18, 2015 2:28 pm ET

INDIANAPOLIS -- This offseason is a critical juncture for the Rams and Sam Bradford and there are a number of different ways that things could go. Les Snead told CBSSports.com Wednesday he thinks "it'll work out" to keep Bradford with the Rams.

"Contract wise, we'll deal with him and his agents on that. I think it'll work out," Snead said. "We want a healthy Sam Bradford. It's great to talk about. I like to look at the part where if he's good for some team he's good for us."

Snead also cited the case of CBS Sports' Phil Simms during his Giants career and winning late while noting the Rams need to "insure" their quarterback depth chart.

"We just need to … insure the position," Snead said. "Have options in case we get the worst of the luck. I go back to Phil Simms career. He spent seven years banged up, Year 8 he wins the Super Bowl."

Despite all this optimism, there's no guarantee Bradford remains in St. Louis. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports Bradford's camp has permission to seek a trade, which could result in him finding his way out of town.

But with the market for quarterbacks being largely a disaster at the moment (even if you're holding a high draft pick), it's understandable if the Rams don't want to lose Bradford and face the possibility of trotting out random veterans for another season.

"He's good enough to be a starting quarterback in this league [that] you're not going to be looking to replace," Snead said.

    You're dead on with this.

Fans around here complain about certain positions, but when the suggestion of an upgrade comes the upgraded player 'isn't good enough'. It boggles the mind.

Or maybe some have a problem with replacing one crappy QB with another crappy QB. One who might be able to sling it all over the field, but will still figure out how to lose games ?

Who the hell are you to talk about quarterbacks? You have been a Tebow cocksucker for years.

So what? Are you denying that Geno has been a crappy QB thus far ? Are you denying that Cutler has been crappy for years ?

Cutler is about as good a QB as freaking Jeff George. He can sling it anywhere, but you aren't going to win consistently with him. For every pass he threw that had you saying "Man, how did he do that?", he threw five more that had you saying "WTF, WHY did he do that?"
