I think that all this doom & gloom and "the world is what it is, always" is the low before climbing up again. I'm guessing there new group is working on the "cure" and the rest of the show will be going through a series of missions to obtain ... "ingredients" to make the cure happen. So this + next season will be getting pieces together with series finale being the hopeful "now we can actually try to save the world"
If people keep watching the show there is no way AMC will end it next season. The groundwork is already laid by the comics, there is a story to tell.
Well, they better sprinkle in some action because this "people keep watching" business can turn in a hurry if they keep spending 2 hours a pop on the soul searching.
Not so sure. My GF will watch it if it just showed Rick cutting the lawn and Carl fingerpainting. It'd be like one of us stopping watching the Jets because they went 4-12 _
Except they aren't following the comics so the fact that there is an extensive storyline there doesn't reflect anything on the tv show.
Next season last for who? This show is not ending any time soon...Rick could be written off but I doubt it and people love this show. It is the highest watched cable tv show I believe. Plus as a reader of the comics, there is no way they don't introduce arguably the best villain the series has ever had.
Aaron, Eric, Alexandria is back to the comics. Terminus was a side story, but the cannibals were from the comics. They are picking and choosing while still rolling along the same direction the comics are in.
Yeah, I liked it. Blew away the last 2 weeks. I thought there was a good ratio of human stories to zombies getting all blowed up. I really didn't know what to make of the two new characters and whether it was a set up or too good to be true, but up on reflection I think these guys are actually going to be good. But ultimately Alexandria is going to be overrun with some badasses and Rick and his crew are going to be there for the fight. Btw, I have not read any of the comics since the Governor so I have no idea what's going to happen. I just can't see the writers making the first outwardly gay characters supremely evil--I just cant. _
Well technically it would be the 3rd and 4th outwardly gay characters. Don't forget the lesbian in thw group and her girlfrien at the prison attack. but yea i agree. I think these guys are on the up and up. Although i was waiting for RIck to just shoot Aaron as a "we don't trust anyone anymore" stance
Yeah after I typed that I remembered them, but I don't recall we ever saw them making out or munching rug. _
Obviously it is based on the comic but the comic is hardly an indicator of what the show is clearly following , and thus the show's groundwork is already established by what is in the comic. Differences are always more important than similarities when comparing. And the differences are pretty great. Right now they are using things from the comic that they believe work for a tv show. That doesn't mean it will continue and the differences between the show and comic simply do not indicate the comic is the groundwork the show will follow going forward in any meaningful way.
That episode was pretty good, I thought. Loved when Rick punched the guy out. I think the episode did a good job of showing that while the group needs Rick that they don't just follow his every order, sometimes they have to get him to change his extremely cautious/paranoid approach. Although, you know it has to backfire in some way and then they will all fall in line with whatever Rick says.
It was okay, I liked the ending. What happened to that preacher guy Gabriel? He wasn't in this episode at all, not even when they were all in the living room of that house
My wife made the same comment. Maybe he was in the church? The show is fun, but they have enough plot holes and characters doing stupid stuff all the time that this is just overlooked.
He didn't go through the gate with them at the beginning either, it was like the actor had that episode off. But yeah I didn't miss him
