Our schedule really is not bad at all until we play Nashville. Today's game (Vancouver) is likely our toughest match-up in the next couple of weeks, and we have owned Vancouver recently.

Lets keep the streak going. Keep the pressure on the fishsticks to keep winning.

Those three games in hand can be a blessing or a curse. That schedule gets compacted down the road.

Oh I hate the Rangers. I'd root for the Iraqi Republican Guard over them. And the guys that are taking me are HUGE Ranger fans and STHs so we're going to have a lot of ball-busting fun tonite.

I think the vodka is going to start flowing at about 5:45, so by game time we should be in good shape :D

JStokes, just to let you know, the Canucks will be the ones wearing these uniforms
    [IMG].
Being the big Canucks (and hockey) fan that you are, I'm sure you'll be able to sort out the various Miami Dolphin/Darth Vadar-type 'editions' of this identity-starved franchise.

As for the est. 1926 "Original Six" Rangers (they're the 'New York' team in this one btw), they will be wearing their classic 'Broadway Blues' unis (they're kinda like the Yankees that way you know...no need to screw around with what works..) :)

As for the game: the identity-starved Canucks have been playing well of late; winners of 3 of their last 4 including wins over the Blackhawks and (currently reeling) Bruins. Let's hope the NYR don't suffer a letdown coming off their win over the L.I. Fishsticks.

Usually your ball busting is spot on :D but in this instance you may have underestimated me. Back when me and my friends first started playing ice hockey, pond hockey and street hockey--one of my best friends (who's Dad worked for the NHL) started a street hockey league and everyone signed imitation versions of the standard NHL player contract as their favorite player. I was a goalie and my favorite back then was Eddie Johnston from the Bruins, but I later signed one as Gilles Gilbert. My friend's favorite player was Dale Tallon and he wore this jersey every game we played:

And virtually every game the Canucks played the Islanders, we would be there. So I am well aware of what the REAL Canucks jersey looks like.

Ahhh, you just became a fan in 2003? :D

When I was a kid, those "classic" Broadway Blues were reserved for away games--every game I saw at MSG they were in white. I've always preferred the white home jerseys for the Rangers (even though I've always hated the team), was a massive Giacomin fan and attended many a practice at Skateland down the road apiece from my childhood home, never really liked the blue jerseys.

Having said that, have always preferred my Bruins in black and my Devils in Red.

Fair enough - point to JStokes.

    *buzzer*

Wrong. While it is now the league norm, the Rangers - long before you were idolizing Eddie Johnston (i.e. when you weren't painting Gerry Cheevers "stiches" on your goalie mask) :D the Rangers wore their 'Broadway Blues' at home in their hallowed birthplace: that smoky dungeon between 49th & 50th and 8th & 9th ave.

MSGIII, the original home of Tex's Rangers.

Kinda glad they finally got burned coasting through a third period with a one goal lead. Maybe now they'll play a full 60 minutes every once in a while. Especially without their Hall of Fame goalie safety net.

Spot on AM. The last 5 minutes of regulation were especially frustrating the way they lost one after another one-on-one battle for the puck vs. a Canucks team that had a bunch of scratches to begin with. Soft back checking, Canucks camping out in the crease, and on and on….. Yes Ryan Miller flourishes in shootouts but there were some sad sack attempts in the shootout as well. Blown point. Frustrating.

   --"tHroW tHe BuM oUT!!!" : )

Islanders picked up a point on the Rangers as well. After the Preds spotted the Isles a 3-0 lead and closed to within 3-2, the Fishsticks buried a pair en route to an impressive 5-2 win at the Sam's Club Commack Fair Grounds.

Matt, have you seen the Islander post-game "3 stars of the game" ceremony? It's (corny) cute: they apparently recruited 2 of the 3 pretty girls that reside in Uniondale, taught them how to skate and used them to skate around in quasi-Ice Capades fashion as "eye candy" with L.I. Islander flags on a stick while they announce the 3 stars of the game. It's kinda entertaining in a Commack Lion's Club County Fair kind of way....... : )
