Again, Bradford would have to pass a physical. But it's his leg. I would be more concerned about him if it was his throwing arm or shoulder that was the issue. Comparisions to Pennington are in that regard inapt. And yes, Chip Kelly would not want him, either, but imo the Jets will be fine with a pocket passer who is a huge upgrade over Smith.

Pats just won with dink and dunk passing rather then rockets from the pocket.

If we have a shot at a capable QB who won't make terrible decisions then I'm happy for them to make short passes and work off Ivory.

I'd take Bradford for a 4th or 5th with an option of moving that to a 3rd or 4th if he stays healthy, maybe even a 2nd rounder if we somehow end up above .500

Your mistaking the term "bad" for "injured".

I'd take a QB who can win close games over a QB who consistently wilts under pressure, which is what Bradford has done his entire career. The kid came out of college scared to stand in the pocket and throw the ball and that never changed. He's like a younger version of Kyle Orton. Looks great when throwing in shorts, caan make all the NFL throws, yada, yada, yada. Put him in the game. Hell, one could make a credible argument that Austin Davis was an improvement at QB for St. Louis.

FTR, I didn't think much of Sam Bradford when he was at OU, I didn't think much of him when he was drafted and I haven't seen much from him that would change my opinion of him.

trade what? I'm iffy on giving up the picks needed to pry him from STL. especially from a twice injured player.

I agree. He has a high cap charge next year, and I don't want to give up a 4th or 5th round draft pick for a stop gap QB.

If someone wants to trade a pick higher than a 5th for Bradford, let them do so. I would not be interesting in giving out anything higher than a 4th on conditional terms for Bradford.

i love how if the jets do trade for bradford, people will say geno is done....

Until Bradford ties his shoe and tears a ligament. If we do trade for him, we better have someone else too.

Well...I say...if the Rams release him...worth taking a look. I'm not in for it costing the team anything. Oh, and as far as I'm concerned the Rams had far and away more offensive talent, as far as a QB is concerned, than the Jets. Tavon Austin is worth 2 of anything we have...including Decker. Amendola just won a damn Super Bowl so he couldn't suck all that bad...in fact his issue was injuries as well. No, talent was/isn't the problem with Bradford...it's what is well documented here. He is a brittle QB who can't stay on the field. I would agree he is most certainly an upgrade to what we have...when he's on the field that is. And there is simply no guarantee of that.

The Jets gave up 47 sacks last year...we'd have lost a Sam Bradford somewhere around 10 or 12...leaving us right where we are now. Now that I think about it I'd rather not...I say pass on this guy.

It has nothing to do with being a "big man", although I do suspect you do have a small pecker. It's an opinion of mine that anyone who thought Tebow was a good NFL QB doesn't know shit from shinola when it comes to NFL QB's. Therefore, I don't give a fuck about what you think about any NFL QB. Got it?

Just watched a clip with Sam Snead (Rams GM) and I don't know that Bradford hits the market or is traded. Snead kept saying he didn't think the answer was to "delete" Bradford. Of course, that could just be "smoke" but the Rams, if they did get rid of Bradford, would be in the same bad situation as everyone else is...looking for some veteran presence to potentially be the starter...because no way in hell they get either of the top 2 guys.

If, as many on here would lead you to believe, Bradford is one of the top potential FA/Trade guys and the Rams would be worse off without him...injury history not withstanding...why get rid of him. I mentioned this months ago and I'll stick to it...I don't think Bradford hits the street...or trade...UNLESS someone is really stupid and sends a small ransom to the Rams of which they can't turn it down. Let's just HOPE it's not the Jets anteing up that ransom!

{edit} Oh, and I think if Bradford stays they re-do his contract to bring that huge number down to a manageable number in the event of injury.

I've said it a million times before. A gimpy right throwing shoulder and a gimpy ACL that he's torn twice. Pass.

    Sign Bradford and draft Mariota.

Suddenly our QB situation isn't so bad.

...but it is, until the Oline is fixed. Our current guards are worthless. Our LT is showing age. One thing if we just run the football, but we insist on this league wide demand for spread and shotgun offense; with decker as our #1 receiver lol
