That would solve all our problems, a QB who is always injured! And the majority hated Pennington for this!
Yes I have, and I can't right him off based on the team he was on. He's shown signs of the ability to succeed, but I'm saying at the right price. I don't think it's gonna take a lot to get him. Consider our situation, a flyer on him is an easy decision. I'll play him over Geno on one leg right now..until we get somebody...anybody. That said, I hope we draft Mariota anyway
I would still want to take one of the top 2 QB's at 6 if they were available if we pulled the trigger on this.
Nothing more than a 5th round pick IMO. I would prefer to wait it out, let the Rams sweat and ultimately cut him instead. He's a good stop-gap, but I am not trading a 4th rounder for him.
If still a Ram.. We absolutely should not trade for this guy and his contract. If released... We absolutely should attempt to sign him.
The bottom line with Bradford is his contract. He is due about 13 mil in 2015 but the way I read it no guaranteed money left. And a big salary cap hit. Here are the details of his contract http://overthecap.com/player/sam-bradford/1349 So not sure about the money. Probably StL wants to get rid of that contract. He could be as good as anyone on the open market including Mariota and Winston.
Until the Oline is fixed Joe Montana would fail here. but the kid has a rocket for an arm and probably something still to prove. Would much rather see a Vet (Bradford or even live with Geno) than see a rookie starting next season. If we draft a rookie, I don't want to see them year 1.
I would be surprised if the Rams just give him away...but, I believe he is due some serious bucks. If they truly are shopping him and he's healthy he will draw some bidding wars.
I'd rather trade a 3rd for Bradford than reach on Grayson or Petty with that pick. Can't see it happening but Bradford for a 3rd would be a good deal.
Records are notoriously wonky when it comes to measuring the quality of a single player, even QB. Look at Archie Manning and Vinny T. Hell, Archie Manning was something like 35-105-1. That's a horrific record, right? But the dude was a good QB. Now I'm not saying Sam Bradford is any of those three guys, but I think he is a solid QB who's played on less than solid teams. Right now we need a solid QB... shoot, we need someone who can at least groom a future QB. Bradford can do that IMHO.
At this point in Bradford's career, I don't believe you can depend on him to be your starting Quarterback or to stay healthy. When he's healthy he's a solid QB, who consistently goes through his progressions and he doesn't make huge mistakes throughout the course of the game... but he does have a fairly weak arm and and that's a problem, especially since he'll be playing at Metlife. I wouldn't mind him, but I'm not willing to give up anything higher than a fourth round pick for Bradford .
I think Smith Fans should be allowed to have their say here. But posters who are not SMith Fans should not pay any attemtion to them.
The problem here is all the other NFL teams looking to improve their Qb situation. IMO someone else is going to offer more than a 5th, you can count on that. Perhaps some modications to Bradford's contract, enough to help but not so much that he says F it and forces them to release him, and as compensation a tiered arrangement based on performance and number of game appearances. And passing a physical, of course. If the Jets get that, and considering Mariota is a long shot, I do that deal. If the Jets have that deal in place and Mariota falls to them, then that's what the Irish call Happy Troubles. Troubles you are happy to have. IF that happens and Mariota develops. the Jets can merely trade Bradford down the road. In other words the prospect of getting Mariota should not prevent this FO from seeing if a deal can be worked out iwth the Rams.

Wait until he's released and grab him for cheap.
Yea and Tebow had a winning record as a starter. Using w/l as the sole elevator of QB play is retarded. Something a Teboi would love to do.
