With Santorelli now off the market, and Vermette's asking price rumored to be ridiculously high, I'm officially on the Bergenheim bandwagon. Nash-Brass-Zucc Kreider-Stepan-MSL Hagelin-Hayes-Miller Bergenheim/Fast-Moore-Bergeinheim/Fast The sad thing is currently is that the first, third, and fourth lines (if Glass would just vanish) are absolutely on fire. The third line has some of the best possession stats in the league. Unfortunately, MSL's play has led to that second line being an absolute abortion and a black hole. If we can't get that line going, we're going to need to do some shuffling.
Bergenheim almost makes too much sense. If Hayes doesn't hit the rookie wall, and MSL has one last playoff run left in him, that lineup would be damn good.
ok I've been on hiatus, the rangers started to heat up and I figured if I stayed off here for a while theyd keep it up, and they have. TONIGHT the Islanders fall, sick of them, the Blueshirts are gonna take em down!
What a game, what a big game for us. We came back down 3 goals TWICE to win. I loved the effort and it was very intense out there. Fishsticks fans chanting "you can't beat us"...Don't get ahead of yourself Isles fans
Gota give it to Bressard on that game-winning goal by keeping the puck in the zone, maintaing possession and then getting the assist. Correct non-tripping call on the 5-5 tying goal. Klein was boarded - THAT should've been called. Nice rush and drop pass by Kreider on Stepan's goal. Lastly, like that little copycat chanting tune the Fishsticks' P.A. play after Long Island goals. Cheesy. Cheesy, Flyer-like crowd as well.
rnagers scored 16 goals last week, and now 6 to start off this week. burying goals to match that speed of theirs. the speed is useless if you don't bury those goals, they are really showing me something this year.
New York Rangers tied a little-known NHL record by scoring five or more goals in four consecutive games, with each of those games being a win on the road,
New York Rangers ✔@NYRangersFollow #NYR Kevin Klein leads all NHL dmen in even strength assists (12) & is tied for 1st among NHL dmen in even strength points (14) since 12/31.
Klein has been pretty damn clutch offensively. But the main credit goes to Brassard with the Malkin-esque carry along the blue line. He's such a big game player. McDonagh's been back to form the last few weeks and capped it off last night with one of his best games ever. Getting him back on track is one of the top priorities (along with a replacement for Glass), and it looks like he's finally there.
I'm happy to see the Brassard haters awfully quiet recently. Agreed that McDonagh having his best game of the year is encouraging. Needs to string together a few dominant games now. Bergenheim now please. Probably could be had today for a fourth+a prospect like Kristo.
I thought I was the only one honest enough to criticize him. BTW - 6 shots, zero goals against the Islanders in Monday's game.
