First the CJ2K stuff then this, thank god we got rid of Idzik, sounds like the organization was in far more turmoil off the field than on it which is sad. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...slow-seconds-chris-johnsons-view-of-the-jets/
John Idzik fucked us out of a franchise QB and royally fucked up a draft in which we had 12 picks in one of the strongest WR and QB classes in recent memory. _
You know, it's something that has been speculated and I take it with a grain of salt considering the sources...but the mere fact they were willing to put their name on it and not be "anonymous" says quite a bit. I WONDER how much of THIS took place on the Jets the last couple of years? IF this is the case and it was as even HALF as wide spread as this article would lead you to believe then Rex Ryan DID get a raw deal and now I am super pissed off at the trail of events... Somehow, yet again, this would be a VERY NY Jets thing to have had happen...
Ryan still did a poor job of in game adjustments, lack of discipline, being to lax with the players. It was time for both parties to move on, if we were going to hire a NEW GM then this time around we needed to let that GM hire his coach.
Idzik clearly wasn't good for Rex but Winslow was a big p[art of the O early on until that little 4 game suspension changed things.
Imo this justifies the Idzik sabotaged the season talk, it basically says upper management (idzik) was telling Rex who to play on Sundays. How much of this did Woody have a hand in. Wow, kind of makes you feel for Rex if since Idzik was hired he was in his ear telling him what to do. What a mess.
I'll take the under on Rex Ryans tenure with the Bills if you set it at 2.5 years. These guys who were released by the Jets talking might be telling the truth but it would hold much more water if guys like Nick Mangold or D'Brickashaw Ferguson said something. btw, there's already a thread on this.
Thanks Mezz, I opened a thread with the same topic and article link half an hour ago http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/who-was-running-the-show.83433/
Damn...looked around and didn't see it! I MUST be getting old! Hopefully a Mod here will find and merge. I just found it an interesting read. Oh and to the poster above...yeah, guys who are still on the team...probably aren't going to say a whole lot because...you know...that whole adage about "not rocking the boat." Because, you see, Woody would have HAD to know and have HAD to let it go on. But that's just me. I wasn't pointing this out as, yet another we should have kept Rex thread, but more importantly to highlight the dysfunction...and it begins at the top. I really worry just how much our new team of HC/GM will be able to accomplish with "Lug Nut" the owner running around.
Found the thread Nova! LOL!! You know...here's the part that bothers...and scares me... It wasn't bad enough that we have to battle New England and Tom Brady for, at least, the next 2 - 5 years after being their whipping "boy" for the last decade already. Now, our jack ass of an owner allowed this kind of shit to go on and cost us a coach who is going to make it his personal mission to beat the shit out of us as often as possible. Oh, and let's not forget that the team he went to already begun the process by HUMILIATING us TWICE last year. Not that it was easy but now let's make FOUR out of sixteen games freakin' personal wars on an annual basis and, yeah, we are looking at shit and mediocrity for the foreseeable future. Let's not forget that our brand new HC/GM are still being lead by that ass monkey, Johnson, who allowed aforementioned cluster fuck to rage for two full years. I REALLY have to have my head examined for continuing to root for this classless organization that is run by worthless piece of shit that couldn't manage his own ass out of a wet paper bag.
Damnit Mezz, now I actually have to type instead of just copying my post from this thread into yours periodically.
Yes, so true. Idzik screwed us royally and he couldn't screw in a lightbulb. Lucky Dartmouth still has Daniel Webster to brag about.
Just plain stupid isn't it? Was Rex that lame he couldn't say something? 46 years and counting....Mac and Bowles better have a set of b***ls!
Eh, two burnt out players who were bitter probably make the situation out to be worse than it was. Rex should have been fired or handed the keys to franchise after Tanny was canned because I don't think anyone other than Woody believed bringing in a new GM was gonna work. Idzik was probably worried to let Rex go after his 1st season with him because it would have created an uproar. Whether he did it intentionally or not, Idzik didn't give Rex much to work with in year #2 and figured a bad season would give him the opportunity to make the change. Either way, it all starts from the top and pray that Maccagnan and Bowles work well together as reports are indicating.
Feel the same way about Ol' P.T. Barnum. He kinda admitted to mistakes on his part in the house cleaning presser. I'm still wondering if he meant it, if he's a liar, or he can't help himself, or all the above. I still don't believe he really gives a shit about regular people or the players.
