they didn't dominate anything. they had a couple of nice wins. The Butler over UNC was a nice win and Prov over ND. other than that they beat weaker teams in both conferences.

You know, not for nothing, I had to hear that idiot Lunardi say that Villanova will have a hard time justifying a 1-Seed by virtue of playing in a conference that is a notch below the others. Would you mind telling me when exactly the WCC became a national powerhouse?
'Niva lost to SH and Georgetown, Gonzaga lost in OT to a team that could be a 1 seed and at worst a 2 seed.
But that wasn't his point, junc. His point was that Villanova can't get a one seed by playing in a sub-standard league. Assuming he is correct, is the WCC on par with the ACC or SEC?

I would have to see the context of the quote before giving my opinion. I believe 'Nova can certainly earn a 1 seed.
if they win out I think they will earn a 1 seed b/c I expect duke and Wisconsin to lose at least once more. at worst they will be a 2 unless they collapse which I don't think will happen. 'Nova is in a good spot and I think they will be a popular pick to reach the FF as long as they aren't in UK or UVa's region.

You should want to play and beat the Heels like I want the Heels to play and beat Kansas. the past teams UNC has had better teams, this year 'Nova may be better though I think they are closer than the records indicate. that SH player was suspended 2 games by the way.
Villavova has played UNC SIX TIMES in the NCAA Tournament. Isn't that enough? God, what I would do to play Gonzaga once... just once!
They did beat the Heels once- en route to the '85 title. I hope 'Nova and Gonzaga get a chance to play(unless Carolina is in their region of course).
I don't know what to expect tonight, come out and play their A game and they can pull the upset, play poorly and it could be a 20 pt loss. They haven't played as bad as the record has shown in recent weeks but they will have to play great to win tonight. I read a stat that the series is tied 40-40 since K took over, that just speaks to the greatness of this rivalry. so many great teams on both sides, very rare down years for either. sometimes duke has the upper hand for a stretch and sometimes Carolina. it's an unbelievable rivalry, the best I have ever seen and hopefully we see another great game w/ the good guys coming out on top tonight though I cannot say I am very confident.
a few words on Vitale. ESPN began the process to phase him out a few years ago, he can be annoying, he's getting old but that man has brought more attention to CBB than anyone and it won't be the same w/o him calling the game tonight.
