Hinkle Fieldhouse... GREAT place for college Bball. Clutch shot by Hilliard but man what a goof by them to get crossed up and allow him to be open while 2 guys chase the ball. Sometimes not having a T.O. plays to the offense's advantage in those situations and not against it. This is such an example
my basis is watching them play. I think 'Nova is a bit overrated too but they are the only team I see capable of any kind of run. St. John's has an awful sched and hasn't beaten anyone yet they are a bubble team. it's a joke.
And Hilliard follows in up with another strong game. I figured Seton Hall would rebound once Whitehead came back from his injury, but no such luck - they're currently in free fall. Sterling Gibbs with the dbag award (and deserved ejection) for his cheap shot on Ryan Arcidiacono.
The BE is just so impressive. Xavier was able to beat Alabama! just amazing, St. John's beating a tough Syracuse team- how can they not be in? Providence is just special, definite FF team and Georgetown? they beat Florida who made the FF last year! DePaul is 1 game under .500- that is how tough this conference is! Gonzaga would win the BE.
It was cheap and he was thrown out but I wouldn't call it the worst, nothing is worse in this era than Henderson on Hansbrough.
The Way I see it, six Big East teams qualify for the NCAA Tournament, which would equal 60% of the conference Villanova 24-2 - SOS 29 9-1 vs the RPI Top 50 + a Victory over the ACC's Syracuse Butler 19-7 - SOS 28 5-6 vs the RPI Top 50 + Victories over ACC's UNC Providence 18-8 - SOS 11 6-5 vs the RPI Top 50 + Victories over the ACC's Notre Dame, Miami, & Florida State Xavier 16-10 - SOS 31 - 3-4 VS RPI Top 50 St. Johns 16-8 - SOS 35 - 3-5 VS RPI Top 50 + a Victory over the ACC's Syracuse Georgetown 16-8 SOS 4 - 3-8 VS RPR Top 50. No Losses against any team with an RPI higher than 50
Archidiacono was prone on the ground underneath another player and was completely vulnerable. The Hansborough shot was amplified because it drew blood.
To put this in persepctive, Your Darlings Gonzaga: Gonzaga 25-1 SOS 91 4-1 vs RPI Top 50 12 Games against the The RPI 150+ more than any other team in the Top 25
the Hansbrough cheap shot broke his nose, it was by far worse than last night although last night was bad. It's funny, I was watching espn classic when they showed the '92 Carolina-duke game at UNC and in that game Brian Reese was on the ground and Christian Laettener stepped on his head intentionally. Of course nothing happened just like months later when Laatnner stomped on the UK players chest in the regional final but that play on Reese was as bad as last night.
which is a complete joke. Syracuse stinks Butler has a nice win but what else have they done? all other decent wins are against mediocre BE teams Prov beat ND which isa good win, also lost to BC which is awful and lost to BROWN. Xavier's best non conf win was Alabama SJU beat no one in non conf and lost to Gonzaga at HOME GU's bets win was over bubble team Indiana even the top team in that conf beat no one in non conf. nice win over VCU but who else did they beat?
