Several news outlets are running with this. It also gives some insight into what was going on behind the scenes with the team and its leadership. I don't think Woody had much choice but to blow it up and start over.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was some BS like that going on last season but CJ2K is pretty retarded.

Why do people still call him CJ2k? Anyway it shows you why Idzik was a joke if this is true which I really belive it is.He made this situation way worse then it should of been ....I hope we never see him in the league again in any capacity

How could any RB coming to the Jets last year not know it would be a RBBC? I don't blame Idzik or Ryan or anyone. Johnson is a moron if he thought he would be getting more carries. I thought he had more carries than he deserved any way.

They used Ivory more because he was better.

CJ quit on the team very early in the season because Ivory outplayed him. Like Vick, he had zero interest in playing. And IMO both of em will pay for that lack of effort during this free agency period.

And CJ also said that he felt he had to settle for the Jets, in so many words. I highly doubt he had many suitors last offseason.

...or maybe his playing time was dictated by his performance?

I don't know, I thought he looked better than most here gave him credit for, but he's not what he used to be.

Not surprised about CJ opening his mouth....nor by what he said.

For Four years I don't think they ever really knew what they were...The personnel moves: player, coaches, and staff, tell ya that. Especially with the OC's. It's on the leadership...including Woody. Good riddance to the lot of them...and hopefully Woody lives up to what he said when he cleaned house, that he recognizes his mistakes also...I don't doubt that Idzik and Rex gave him a bunch of lip service tho. Did they really know what the Hell they were doing?

I feel you CJ... you were misused here. It was rather embarrassing. I know you guys hate CJ because he didn't have many home run hits outside for 2 or 3 this year, but he wasn't THAT bad... The fact that he was being used to run up the middle is laughable. The fact that i can count on one hand how many we threw that man a screen pass is laughable. The amount of time Chris Ivory was in instead of CJ on a 3rd and long passing down, just to see Ivory drop an open pass is laughable. CJ getting barely 10 touches per game is laughable, (averaging 4.5 YPC). Even for Ivory the amount of touches he got this year in the redzone in some games where he should've been used more is laughable. Our coaching staff was a joke i think CJ could and should have played a major role in our offense last year. he'll go elsewhere and double his numbers he had here with ease.

He was decent but no one lied to him. He was outplayed by Ivory so it made sense to give Ivory more carries.

If Chris Johnson had done more with the opportunities that he did get this wouldn't be an issue. Apparently,
Marty M. wanted to put a whole package of pass plays in the offense for him, but he dropped so many passes
in training camp they abandoned the idea.

I don't buy it really. Rex has shown a preference for bruising RB's who go up the hole and Johnson isn't that, at least no where what Ivory is in terms of a ground and pound RB.

He's probably saying exactly what his agent coached him to say in order to make it look like he can still be a top RB instead of just a compliment which he really is.

Agree on the lack of using him as a receiver. But I don't remember when they did throw to him getting a whole lot of production.

He looked like he'd lost a step early on. Good game against the Raiders and then bad games against the Packers and Bears and his role declined. 9 out of 16 games under 3.5 ypc headed into 30 isn't going to bring you back.

He was complaining during the season about not getting the ball enough. The team was 4-12 and the offense wasn't working. Marty was criticized for not using Ivory too (he only gained 800 yards) even though he was playing well. He wasn't used the right way to me. He should have had something like the Shane Vereen role to LaGarrette Blount who as the power back gets more carries. He was a square peg in a round hole but so was everyone else on offense.

I just remember a bunch of plays where passes were thrown to Ivory in the flat thinking WHY ISN'T THAT CJ?
