We have a shit load of money, I would hope we don't have Idzik 2.0 low balling our home growns.
It would be a MAJOR fuck up letting Snacks walk. I don't want to lose faith in this administration so quickly...
Not sure what kind of money Snacks will want next year but I could live with losing him for a first rounder. Losing him and not getting a first round pick due to playing it cheap with the tender would be a colossally stupid mistake on the part of our front office though.

Rex had a way of getting a lot out of defensive linemen. We're going to have to pay Wilkerson, and eventually Richardson. Does it make sense to pay Harrison big bucks too if that's what he's demanding?
I have no inside info when I say this, but there is no way this guy walks... He'll probably get a first-round tender for this season and then a contract extension will be looked into... He'll be back next year And not for nothing, but from what I've seen on TGG's Jets Twitter, he posts a lot of stuff like this
hes an RFA, if we want him back we just say go. He'd make about 3 million if given 1st round tender, he has no choice in the matter unless a team is willing to offer a 1st rounder in return who knows what he'll make in a long term deal (maybe 4-5 mill a year max?) but we don't need to cross that bridge yet. this is about keeping a solid NT on roster this year for a fair price while making sure we get something for him if he's given another deal.
How you can get anything but a headache from that "quote" is beyond me. He's a good player but he plays between 2 very good players. How he would fare if he had to be the main guy on a DLine is up for debate. You lock up Richardson and Wilkerson first. And for good reason. If Harrison has an ego about the value of his contract he should probably be reminded what his value was on draft day.
Maybe we low balled him on an extension? Would be a horrible mistake not putting a 1st or worst case 2nd round tender on Snacks.
Or maybe he just likes the damn song and posted it. Or maybe he's talking about something else in his life. Or maybe we shouldn't be taking an instagram post of song lyrics as a clue to his future here.
They have seen the film. They are aware of what he does. It is their team now. They must have other ideas. Keep the faith. I am not looking to see the same team with the same scheme this year.
And I do not know this for certain, but it could be that nose tackles can be gotten cheaper with the same production level. All depends on what you want out of your nose guy.
Due to the fact that it seems very likely we can't go out and get a good QB this year, why would we not keep Snacks? I get that we would have 3 expensive linemen on the team and that we could potentially have dilemmas down the road with keeping guys. However we currently don't have much talent and a ton of cap space, why not cross that bridge when we actually have to make tough choices when/if the team is much more talented?
Sounds like a huge mistake potentially. It wouldn't take a ton of cash to lock him up short term (2-4 years), would it? You're not gonna find equal production at a lower cost in the FA market. I guess Snacks ain't thrilled about playing for the 1st round (or 2nd round) tender.
