Kerry Collins was not good in Carolina. Sanchez, Vinny and Chad were all better as Jets than Kerry as a Panther.

This has to be a goof account.

But, but, but Kerry Collins took the panthers to the Superbowl and our guys never won any AFC Championship games.

If you blame O'Brien for the Jets not winning playoff games you have to blame the other guys for not making it to the Superbowl. can't have it both ways.

Except Kerry didn't take Carolina to the SB, he won one playoff game in one playoff app. Instead of rushing to attack me, slow down and get your facts in order so you can debate intelligently.

No but he did lead the Giants to a Superbowl so my point stands. He won a conference Championship game so using you logic he is better than Vinny, Penny, Sanchez, etc.

our point doesn't stand as I specifically stated it was about what he did as a PANTHER. want to see my quote?

and including NYG not all conf titles are the same. The NFC was incredibly weak that year, his team didn't even compete in the SB where he threw 5 picks. Our team which missed the playoffs played a much tougher game against same Bal team on the road. we at least competed. NYG wouldn't have made playoffs in AFC that year.

But that is a completely different discussion than discussing Kerry as a PANTHER.

    Don't agree there....sadly.

Boomer was decent, but over the hill by the time they got him. Favre was good for like 8 games, and then he took a crap (and the Jets to carry the stigma of him breaking his streak).

Do I even have to go over O'Donnell? Really?? O'Donnell?!

I don't believe he is serious, no one can think like that.

I didn't forget Kerry Collins and I do not think we are behind the Panthers in any way at all.

It really is kind of ridiculous with the continued comparisons. Let's face facts...when Mark Sanchez is in the discussion as ANY team's best QB then said team is in a world of shit. Period.

And, the sad reality is even Joe Namath was a marginal QB and his inclusion into the "Hall," in my opinion, is sketchy at best. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.....

The additional "disgusting" factor in all of this is every other team in the AFC East has fielded an actual full blown, not marginal (Namath), Hall of Fame QB in the last 20 years.

There's no doubt that we haven't had that next HOF'er, but we haven't had shit at QB either. Sanchez was much better than he's given credit for when he actually had talented players around him. Vinny, Pennington were also very good and so was O'Brien. Todd also had a few shining moments. We just need to get a Franchise QB who can stay healthy. We have not done well with grooming our young QB's either

I didn't say anything about Ken, just stating how Browning Nagle started over him in 1992. You do what you want w/ that info.

I hated Coslet for that. I remember how much better our offense moved the ball whenever Ken O'Brien came off of the bench in relief of Nagle.

I remember a Monday night game against Buffalo where O'Brien came off of the bench to help us come back and build a lead over the Bills. Unfortunately, Thurman Thomas won the game for Buffalo with a 80-90 yard rushing TD (can't blame O'Brien for that one).

O'Brien was obviously better than Nagle, that 1992 season I believe was the worst in our history- at least the worst in all the years I have been watching.

I remember that Monday Night game very well, I knew we scored too soon to take the lead and Buf went right down the field and won it. Buf dominated us in those days though we did get a rare win against them a couple of months later after the Dennis Byrd injury a week earlier.

the fact that is the list to choose from tells you all you need to know about why the Jets haven't enjoyed any lasting success.

Well, if on the heels of passing on Teddy and Carr last year, we pass on Mariota or Winston if either of them are there--then you'll have a new reason why.
