Sure is. Unlike the WCC, where 12,000 fans are what Gonzaga faced on the road for their past three games..... COMBINED.

Again, their lack of depth will probably cost them. Too bad - if they were 9-deep they could run with a lot of teams.
Smallish team whose athleticism has them as a top-5 team in blocked shots.

Tonight on ESPN3 at 9:00 the darlings of the West Coast take on the Loyola-Marymount Lions.

Hopefully the Zags are not looking ahead to the back-to-back, back-breaking conference challange facing them in the form of Pepperdie and Pacific.

unlikely this year right? Assuming Gonzaga gets a no.1 with Villanova, likely a no.2 seed, the earliest they could meet would be elite 8.

Since Gonzaga has only been there once, and it was 16 years ago (1999), I'd say i wouldn't put anything more than "hope" that that would happen if I were you.

since 1999 Gonzaga has been to 1 regional final, Villanova 2. it's not likely b/c neither gets there very often.

Tonight, then the Saturday tilt vs. Peppermint U. and then they're off 5 days until next Thursday at the Univ. of the Pacific's notorious Janssen-Logario Gym. During the 5-day layoff and in preparation for U. of P, Coach Mark Few has scheduled back-to-back scrimmages with the Spokane, WA crosstown Lewis & Clark High School Tigers. To practice dealing with crowd noise at Janssen-Logarios Gym, Mark Few has also ordered 15 additional megaphones to be used during their scrimmages with Lewis & Clark.

Brutal stretch, but my money's on the Zags!

Yet look how much more National Coverage Gonzaga gets than Villanova? Other than Kentucky, Duke, and possibly Virginia, what team has gotten more coverage this year? Look how much more Villanova is held to scrutiny than Gonzaga is? Villanova gets absolutely pummeled by out-of-town College basketball press for competing in the Philly Big 5 year after year, as the completion is deemed "beneath them". Meanwhile, if you DARE criticize Gonzaga for choosing to remain in the WCC when the Pac-12 would take them under any condition TOMORROW, you are labeled a "hater of Mid-Majors".

Gonzaga is an absolute joke. They are a media creation that has gotten national attention worth of Top-Tier programs by bending NCAA Tournament qualification rules. Anyone who cares about the integrity of sports hsould hate this program half as much as I do.

Gonzaga is consistently a top 10 team, Villanova is not. If 'Nova was they'd be getting just as much attention. as it is there isn't a huge difference in the attention both schools get.

why would the Pac 12 take Gonzaga when they don't play football?

Gonzaga is consistently a Top 10 team, you are absolutely right. Here is the magical formula:

    1) Get HANDED a Top 10 Pre-Season ranking by the AP for absolutely no reason except that you are the darling Gonzaga.
    2) Schedule no more than three games against the AP Top 25, and go 1-2 in said games
    3) Play your standard High-School quality WCC conference.

What team in the country wouldn't finish in the top 10 following that process?

Because the PAC-12 Basktball is plummeting like a brick, and is on pace to once again have less teams qualify for the NCAA Tournament than any major conference in the country. And don't give me that football crap excuse. Football didn't do Jack Squat to prevent the ACC from taking Notre Dame. The PAC-12 could do the exact same thing.

Gonzaga doesn't WANT to go to the Pac-12. it would disrupt their magic formula.

Gonzaga always has a challenging non conf sched.

ND is basically an ACC team, most of their sched is ACC teams. they keep their "independence" strictly b/c of the lucrative NBC deal.

Is there anything to document Gonzaga being offered and turning it down?

They played two teams in the AP Top 25 this year, Exactly the same as Villanova. The difference is that Villanova has to play in the far superior Big East.

Completely irrelevant. You said they the Pac-12 would not take them because they don't play football. The ACC took Notre Dame without having thier football team join the conference. The end result is the same.

Again, not the point. Gonzaga is the entity with all the power. Why haven't they reached out the the PAC 10 or any other conference?

The BE stinks, it is vastly overrated.

'Nova played one currently ranked team in their non conf. Gonzaga played 2 including top 10 AZ on the road.

'Nova has played two currently ranked teams all season so far.

Please don't compare ND and their situation w/ Gonzaga.

wait, now they have to reach out? I thought you said they were invited and declined? they don't have a football team, I'd be shocked if the Pac 12 would accept Gonzaga.

Completely irrelevant to this discussion, so I will ignore this.

Because they are both instances in which a conference would take a team for basketball and not for football, which damages your entire argument, right?

Quote me exactly where I said that.

it's not irrelevant since you keep brining it up.

it doesn't damage it at all, what does Notre Dame have to do w/ Gonzaga? again, ND football is basically part of the ACC. Part of the deal to allow other sports to come in was that ND had to schedule ACC teams which they have done. Gonzaga DOES NOT HAVE A FOOTBALL TEAM

    Your quote:
my mistake, you didn't write they had an offer but you made it seem like it. you are making things up b/c of your irrational hatred of Gonzaga.

Looks like Deangelo is healthy now, so that will help. They are @Xaiver, then @G-town the next games. These two games could really get them off the bubble. That being said, I expect two losses.

I think you watch your scoreboard, which is good, and true. I've watch multiple SEC games due to where I live, and I may be a biased ACC fan. You calling my post stupid, on the other hand is more stupid.
Sure the bottom of conferences determine overall strength, but you act as if the top only holds the same strength I guess?
The styles of ball played in each mean a lot too.
I will leave you to your thoughts with just a couple examples above. since you are so smart, fill in the blanks a little more. Lets see your proof of why Goliath is unstoppable, due to their tough schedule, and why their conference bottom feeders have prepared them for anything the commitee throws at them in March! SARCASM
Kentucky is not the 90UNLV squad, get real. They have depth, and their calling card of defense which may have all the stats to prove it, but their style doesn't match up so Blue, depending on who they play in the tournament. If the NCAA's set them up for an easy ride, they may win one close game in the final four and win it all.
Kentucky's team has deficiencies in their pattern of play, offensively and defensively. They are young.
Fill in some more negative thoughts. The obvious easy ones are what you are betting on? If Cal coaches like that, they have lost already.
