If you guys can stop yanking to the good 'ol days... http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...he-new-los-angeles-stadium-on-the-fast-track/ It's a brave new world...
I actually like their new look, but it did take awhile to get used to. I hated the 49ers look and am glad they went back to their old look (mostly). I absolutely HATE the Jaguars, Dolphins and Buccaneers new uniforms. The NFL should immediately step in and tell each team to go back to one of their old looks. The Chargers new look is okay, but I'd still prefer their previous one, Bills new uniforms are fantastic, The Falcons are okay, i've gotten used to it. I like the Panthers slight change, Would like to see the Rams go back to Yellow and Blue, but there current look is okay, The Broncos should get rid of the orange jerseys, I like the Lions unis, I like the Vikings look, but did not like their previous one, The Bengals look good, but I liked their 80's look much more, I think the Cardinals look sweet, and it took me a bit to get used to the Seahawks, but I think they look nice now.
That city has enough problems with the Browns, the Cavs, the Indians, the weather, the disgusting infrastructure and the overall degenerate populace. The last thing they need is another failure in the Rams
great pic of the 70's Rams helmet rocked by Namath in your avatar. lol, ok back on topic. living in LA, do you want the Rams back there? it just has never really been a football town. if any team were to move there, i agree it should be the Rams. just the same tho, i'd prefer things stay as they are.
The only thing that would prevent this is San Diego... but that also may mean that the Chargers will go back to LA instead.
That is true but I think SD has a better chance at a new Stadium in SD than Oak does in Oak. the only way Oak would stay is if they share w/ SF but I don't think the ghost of Al Davis would allow that.
maybe, but it would be another big mistake by the NFL.. how many franchises need to leave LA before they realize it's a big market, but not a football market?
I was at the first ever USFL game-- the LA Express versus the NJ Generals and it was on a brilliantly sunny day at the LA Colosseum. We were in shorts and t-shirts and got sunburned and it was a blast. Except the stadium was about 1/3rd filled and after a while nobody was paying attention to the game. Just another glorious afternoon in Southern California spent outside doing nothing, taking in the sites. Not sure it's a pro football town. Herschel Walker's first game as a pro. I think Donald Trump came in by helicopter onto the field. But I may be misremembering that. I think we were drinking alot. _
I don't either. I only meant that SD may try to block Oakland from moving to LA because a large portion of their ST Holders are from the LA area, and it may end up being the only way they can actually block it is if they move to LA themselves. I'd rather them stay in SD and the Raiders stay in Oak. but who knows...
Hell no!...but I think they're coming anyway. I love this wikipedia quote- In the twilight of his career, Namath was waived by the Jets to facilitate his move to the Los Angeles Rams when a trade could not be worked out. He was signed by the Rams on May 12, 1977. Namath hoped to revitalize his career, but by this point his effectiveness as a quarterback was greatly reduced by his knee injuries, a bad hamstring, and the general ravages of a long period of time playing professional football, as well as his "hard and fast" lifestyle. After playing well in a 2–1 start, Namath took a beating on a cold, windy, and rainy Monday night game in a one-point loss at the Chicago Bears, throwing two interceptions, with another being nullified by a penalty, and was through for the regular season. He did not play again, but redemption and a Hollywood ending was there for the taking. After a disastrous three quarters of turnovers and only trailing by seven points in the opening round of the playoffs, head coach Chuck Knox seemed ready to pull Pat Haden and insert Namath. Rams assistant coach Kay Stephenson said Namath looked great warming-up in the third quarter and advised Knox to put him in. The television audience was on the edge of their seats as it appeared Namath would replace Pat Haden and save the Rams' season. But Knox hesitated. Haden's problems continued and the Rams lost to the Vikings by a score of 14–7 in a sea of mud at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Namath retired from the Rams after a single season.
Los Angeles Chargers & Los Angeles Raiders too??? http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...akland-raiders-joint-stadium-plan-los-angeles I understand this might just be posturing to get a new stadium built in their own cities, but how in the hell could 2 teams in the SAME division play in the same city??? That's a guaranteed 9 regular season games every year in their own stadium/city, and 10 when they would play the NFC West & the L.A. Rams
I loved the L.A. Raiders, they were my "second" team. Marcus Allen, Tim Brown, Bo Jackson, Coach Art Shell, Howie Long.....they were a good "Plan B" to root for.
