Chris will want to go to a team where he can be the lead back. The only thing is there aren't any.

I really wish this team would stop signing players at the end of there carrers most recently see the list below,Its getting a little ridiculous......Not one of these guys made a impact in any major way there just getting in the way of the younger players reps. Can we actually sign some quality free agents for once who aren't a year away from retirement

    Ed Reed
    Plaxico Burress
    Derek Mason
    Jason Babin
    Mike Vick
    Chris Johnson
    Josh Cribbs
    Tim Tebow(Yea that's right)
    Willie Colon
    Kellen Winslow

Yeah. There are too many talented backs that can be had in the middle rounds. Duke Johnson, TJ Yeldon, Ameer Abdullah, and Davis Johnson could all be targets in that range.

His actual yards per carry was probably closer to 8.

We need a QB coach that can teach Geno to take the snap from under center instead of handing off in the shotgun 7 yards behind the LOS.

a dime a dozen position at that

Isn't that common in most organizations though? I mean every veteran plays out the string and retires eventually. Signing a veteran for cheap at or near the end of his career and trying to get something out of the wily vet really isn't that uncommon in the league. Sometimes it pans out and is a great strategy, sometimes it doesn't but you know it's a short term commitment all along....

Here's the Ravens just the last couple years for example you could have the same post for--

Can we sign some quality free agents for once who aren't a year or two away from retirement?

    Ricky Williams
    Marcus Spears
    Steve Smith
    Michael Huff
    Dallas Clark
    Brandon Stokely
    Owen Daniels

Funny how these players all of a sudden get passed around like a cheap whore. Anyway,
since the writing on the wall seems to point to us cutting him. I was wondering what would
our cap number be like. Cant forget we will be cutting a lot more players beside CJ2k

Not to be nit picky but Babin and Colon were good considering we got them for nothing. Colon cut down on the penalties as the year went on, and I blame a lot of the sloppy play in general on Rex Ryan. Plaxico, while an overall poor signing, gave us a red zone offense we haven't seen for 4+ years since.

Hey. Maybe he was a leader in the locker room. You never know.

Cut him and take that money and use it on Spiller or Vereen.

I wouldn't go after Vereen. He's a receiving RB something I thought Chris Johnson could do well at. And I won't be shocked if New England loses Vereen if they weren't interested in Chris. I'd rather for the Jets give a lot of those targets to Kerley and draft a guy like Abdullah.

    Cut CJ, Harvin, and Cumberland.
for about the same money saved, we can sign Bulaga, Charles Clay, and Matt Moore.

    1. If we trade down it would be less than 33%.

    2. If we are smart enough to focus on BAP and take what the draft gives us running back will be the BAP once or twice in this draft.

    3. Look at what Marshawn Lynch, Eddie Lacy, and even LeGarratte Blount, and LeVeon Bell did for their respective teams. Hell, look how much better Tony Romo was with DeMarco Murray taking pressure off of him. Not exactly dime a dozen.

    If we build
An offensive line instead of taking two RBs, then the RBs become a dime a dozen

We can do both but taking two RBs in one draft is a bit odd. If you want to take two guys in one position, take two QBs and hope one works out. 2 RBs when we are ok at that position to begin with with crazy

Again Chris Johnson says he wants to be a lead back. But does he really want to carry the ball 20 plus times a game. Not too good for your health. He can still play and at times showed he can still hit a crease and get significant yardage. As a receiver if he gets open he could break one. I don't see him as a good fit here but a team like the Patriots would know how to use him. They could mix him into their offense and he's faster and has more breakaway potential than Shane Vereen. But I'm not against bringing him back in that role if he's willing to accept it.

Powell is a free agent and Chris Johnson could be cut.

That leaves us with one RB and two open slots.
