    But that makes him worthless.

He's been in the league two years now. Sucked ass his first year and was injured his entire second year. "Hoping" a first round pick gets better, makes him worthless right now.

    4 - 10

I hate to be negative, but a myth is as good as a mile.

The F is for (i) not picking a franchise QB when one was sitting there, (ii) how awful our QB situation has been for 6 years and (iii) the fact that QB is the most important position in organized sport.

McD may end up being a good player but he may end up sucking.

To say he was a good pick if he didn't play a down is silly.

But the F is for Fucking Up the QB position.

    It's all that matters.

Same goes for Teddy and Carr. They are not franchise Qbs yet.

The biggest problem with the 2014 draft right now is that the Jets used a 3rd rounder on a CB who had missed most of his senior year with a shoulder injury and then he missed all of his first NFL year with a knee. That pick may have been good or it may have been bad but it looks terrible right now and it was right in the sweet spot where you'd have expected a good talent evaluation team to get some talent.

Put another way: given the pick the Jets needed to prove how smart it was and instead the guy got hurt again and couldn't play the season.

John Idzik's biggest blindspot was his belief that talent is talent and injuries are random and you shouldn't let the latter keep you from the former. It worked out just fine with Chris Ivory but it bit hard with both Milliner and McDougle.

What the fuck are you talking about? They were rookies. Of COURSE they aren't franchise QBs yet.

They WILL be franchise QBs. They had great rookie seasons given the shit they had around them and neither of those franchises are even thinking about drafting a QB.

McD may end up a pro bowler and he'll never have the impact of either Teddy or Carr.

Oh, and they both played this year.

    Stop the nonsense.

Exactly. I was just about to add that most of your numbered bold statements are opinions, but they are supported by numerous facts. So you make really good arguments, and your post is of the highest quality. Some posters who are attacking you mistake some of your facts as opinions, or just ignore the facts you use to support your opinions and so dismiss your opinions, even though they are well supported by facts. Happens to me too on these boards sometimes so I can sympathize.

It is not a myth that John Idzik was a poor drafter.

Actually, that is a myth because that would be an insult to poor drafters.

He was a completely incompetent GM with no sense for talent or need or the mix of the two. His drafts were dreadful.

He sucked at drafting and set the franchise back years.

If you think he was a good drafter you should be forced to watch his idiotic and rambling 20 minute press conference continuously as your punishment until you come to your senses.

I think what you've said is wrong, off base, illogical. That's why I disregard it.

But maybe I should agree with you because you are sensitive to criticism?

His drafts were awful. He was an incompetent GM.

You want to sugar coat it and make excuses for him?

    That's the myth here.

We just suck every year because of free agency. That's all.

We don't suck because of our terrible draft picks. Nope

Damn you beat me too it. OP is full of shit. Clearly doesn't know football if he considers Idzik a good drafter.

But we got McD! How can he be a poor drafter if we got McD!?

7.) The Jets haven't won a Super Bowl in decades because of some missing air in the New England footballs

    Keep on making excuses
