Your team won the Super Bowl and you're on the Jets message boards.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What kind of human being goes on a rival teams message board after winning the super bowl? You need to get out more, pal.
Patriots fans have enjoyed more football success than any other fan and they still enrapture themselves with bragging rights over Jets fans, it defies imagination. It's probably because they want to stick it to the small percentage of Yankee fans on the forum because they couldn't do it to the Yankee/Giant fans pretty much ever. Only explanation I can think of anyway
Luckily for me I am a fan of the two most accomplished and elite franchises in the New York area, the Mets and Jets
I tend to agree and would add on that playing with Peyton prepares wide receivers to be effective targets for the rest of their careers. Not only on the mental side of the game and anticipatory route breaking but just the mere volume of work these guys get. Decker caught 170+ balls with Peyton over 2 years. Do people really think that didn't help him transform into an extremely reliable target?
Denver isnt letting DT walk and Dallas isnt letting Dez walk so theres no point in hoping for either of them
Even if these top flight WRs hit the market I just don't see us going after any of them. I see us drafting a compliment to Decker and reworking Harvin's contract.
Aside from lack of talent at CB, the biggest critique against the Jets was lack of talent at WR and not spending $$$. It's foregone conclusion, the Jets will absolutely make bids on top talent WRs.
I think it depends if Harvin restructures, if he's cut we will def go after DT, under his price-tag now it's not going to happen. This team has many holes, ILB may become another hole very soon if we don't resign Harris.
After the deal Decker got last season and Harvin's deal needing reworking, I don't see us laying out big $ on another top tier WR. How much $ are you thinking of tying up in our 2 recievers, I think that'd be detrimental. We need O-Line help and secondary needs a total overhaul, I think the $ would be put to better use elsewhere. Personally I'd go after a top TE and draft a receiver.
Ok, I see where you are coming from...under the assumption the Jets keep Harvin. That's fair. Even if the Jets keep Harvin, they still need a premiere playmaker, whether it be at the RB or WR position. Although, just to note, I believe the consensus was that Decker's contract was very favorable for the Jets.
I really like the idea of going with the Patriot model of when they had Gronk & the murderer. If it were me I'd look to grab Julius Thomas if he becomes available. I do agree Decker's contract is pretty favorable but adding the $ Thomas would command would, along with Harvin, would be a ton of cap space at thw WR postion. I guess you could say the TE is pretty much the same as spending on a WR, but I just love the idea of Amaro and Thomas paired with Harvin Decker Kearly and possibly Cooper, damn!
