Possible for Thursday Friday CBG...but I will say this...the stormed modeled for Sunday night/Monday/Tuesday?
How long have we been doing this on TGG? Bunch of years right? I would say that stormed being modeled..the setup..I would put it top 3 of all the storms we have ever tracked.

NOW...IT COULD BE NOTHING...but this setup? Its intense...involves 3 jet streams...has the potential to bring a snow storm from Georgia to Maine. Its been on the models with different levels for almost a week now. When you get the Jet Stream to form a piece of energy down in the gulf and drag it across Florida...and then cold air all the way down south..I mean...potential out the ass...WITH PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ERROR.

That was a good amount of snow. not sure exactly what came down today but we have close to 18" on the ground now. This is where things get difficult. No where to put more snow. Intersections become tricky due to high banks. Rooting for a bust on this next storm.

WOW fjf...have heard no reports that high..that is incredible bud. Heard big numbers in Conn..but the truth be told is this..unless I really bust...if I think Im kind OK...I never really ever check. Never. I know what I got...and thats about it. I also read where parts of Mass have received over 5 feet of snow..most snow ever in a 10 day period in history.

I do hear you..its becoming a problem for even me down here where to put it. Its getting ugly at the end corners of my driveway.

EDIT...OK...GOT YOU...OVER 18 total on the ground...sorry..understood. I have about 15. Its getting to the point where I really have no idea what I would if we get a foot of snow.

Jay, I joined this site only for your info, and I take what you say with 100% confidence. I'm about 10 miles outside of boston, we can't handle anymore snow. We literally have no where to put it. Can you give me a worse case scenario for Monday?

First off..thanks Marshall...I do remember when you joined and we had a storm in your neck of the woods. Ok...I also understand that some parts of your area are dealing with over 4 feet of snow with combined storms.

Now...the problem is this. We always check models...through some past references in there but one thing I have learned about winters is this..snow finds snow. Where there are spots that get clobbered..they do several times over.

Now again...here we go...the Thursday/Friday storm will phase too late for us down here it seems...but may in time for you guys up there. Although this storm will not be as big, you guys up there are in the same position as we were for the first storm that busted down here. The chances that this develops in time to give your area big snows is 50/50 right now...but getting several inches is probable.

The Monday storm is the same situation...and it actually has a much better shot at happening. The potential is big time for many.

So...have not really answered your question but right now...it would look like 2 to 4 Thursday/Friday ..and with any luck it could stay far enough off shore for just a very light snow event...and then we have to follow Sunday night thru Tuesday...really follow.

Mondays worst case scenario SOMEWHERE will be over 2 feet easily..and some models have it over 3 feet..easily. Checking morning models now.

Just so you guys get an idea of how this Monday storm could break down...here is the forecast from NWS..and I will break it down and explain it. Sorry...but it will be copied and pasted at my site too. lol..its exhausting going back and forth.

    • Saturday A chance of light snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

    • Saturday Night A chance of light snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
    • These two light snow events above are based on the intense cold front that will enter our area before the POTENTIAL storm..setting the stage.

    • Below is the storm itself..and if NWS extended it out...it would read chance of snow for Tuesday too. Many indications of a stall here just south of us
    • Sunday A chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 26. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

    • Sunday Night A chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 14. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

    • Monday A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 21. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

You said to remind you so here I go.

Heading to LaGuardia tomorrow morning--Wednesday--from Bergen County.

Flying BACK into LaGuardia Thursday morning--landing about 11:00 am. Any trouble landing and/or driving back to BC?

Fly out looks good JS...fly back looks ok..might have some light snow but you are early enough to have wiggle room if the start delaying for no major reasons bud..if anything changes in the models today..will post it but looking good right now

I know FJF...I hear you...The weather nut in me says bring it on...the homeowner says no mas. The problem with this is that the real answer may take days to get...and not even by Saturday will we have a true answer.

Right now FM? Not good at all....not at all. Now..this is looking at 7 models 5 days away from the storm. If I were looking at these models on Saturday and they read what they do now...thats how I answer your question FM...so the answer would be not good at all...with plenty of time to change.

To answer the next question...any flights for that time period would be more comfortable from Sunday at noon and before. AGAIN..will change..but that time you put in there would be the height of the modeled storm. If I gave you another answer, I would be lying sir.

    Jay

How does Thursday afternoon/evening look for Manhattan? I have an appointment at 6:30 and need to know if I should cancel it if return back to Madison thru NJ Transit will be a hassle. :)

Incredibly its up in the air for snow...I mean brook..its nothing big at all..thats almost guaranteed bud..i think either way, all should be fine. Will it snow..probably..but a light snow event. Its almost nuts that this time-frame still has question marks..but the 10 percent chance of something decent still happening is hanging around...I just highly doubt it sir.
