Exactly....we have a ton of cap space, why not get both of them to solidify our D. Can you imagine how SICK our defense would be with the Sons of Anarchy, young rising stars Quinton Coples and Demario Davis, Revis and Cro, along with young stud Calvin Pryor making big strides at safety! That's 8 potential Pro Bowlers right there....on offense Gailey helps Geno improve greatly, Ivory/Powell run the rock, Decker some FA/draft WR, Kerley, Amaro, Cumberland, a couple new O-lineman...........SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sure I might be drinking the proverbial kool aid a bit right now, but all of that is possible, and now's the time to dream!

I say no….all that cap money should be spent investing in long term players. Revis is gone. If Idzik did one favor for the 2015 Jets, it was to have plenty of money and spend it wisely. Why dump all that money into one guy when we need plenty of positions filled with that money.

Let look at it from a different angle.. What could the Jets offer Revis that no other team could? Takes money off the table so what else is there?

To everyone that wants Revis AND Cro... yall want to put milliner in Kyle Wilson's shoes and waste that 1st pick? I think Milliner should absolutely be on the outside until he's a proven BUST. Bring in Cro and save a great amount of cap space, and can still get very good results. Also would allow us to bring in a safety like Rahim Moore! We can get 2 for 1 by avoiding bringing back Revis,

Revis would be my top priority. If NE picks up his option or he renegotiates, then I would settle for Cro.

Can't have both. I still believe Milliner could be good.

This is the most reasonable comment I've read in this thread so far (including my own lol). You are right on the money.

I could live with that, if we can't land on Revis Island.

Why in the FUCK does anyone on this board want Revis back?!!!!

He's like the girlfriend that was with you (the jets) but she wasn't sure if she liked you or not so she decided to hold on you a couple times while you begged her to come back. She comes back but only to leave again and she teases you now about wanting to be with you again but then there's this other guy (patriots) and she makes you think she wants you but all along she had already made up her mind on the other guy...now the other guy aka your arch nemesis has fucked her brains out and she's satisfied now cuz she won a super bowl. After all that you still want that bitch back? Fuck Revis !!!!

No girlfriend analogy works for the Revis situation, unless you are a superficial dipshit that grew up in the Hamptons and keeps girlfriends by buying them gifts instead of having any significant reason to have a woman around you.

    Stupid.

This is amusing. First time on this board as long as I can remember where we are looking at potential free agents that would fill a huge area of need and saying "sign the second best beast!""c'mon Mac get us #2!"
Even in years we were cash strapped guys wanted the best player available and now we are sitting on a pile if $ and we want to skip the HOFer?
Bring Revis home, not just because he is Revis but he will be without a doubt the best player available at a position of great need, forget Cromartie, let Milliner and McDougal learn from a bona-fide stud at his position.
I don't care if Revis left us for more money, I don't care that he went to the Patriots all I care about is winning and there is no denying that we are a better team with Revis.

The Revis train left town last offseason. Unless you can list a significant reason that he would come here the idea of signing him is stupid.

    Let me help you:

He wants money (he just won a title with a team he took less money for, so that's false)
He wants to come back to the Jets (Rex is gone and he has no reason to love an organization he was once with aside from his old neighborhood)

What reason does he have to care for the Jets???

Revis is a great player, but its time to move on. At this point in his career the guy is like Sanders. If you have your team at that point where you could use just one impact player to put you over. Then go ahead and you give him whatever. Right now we are not in that position. We need, in some particular order

2 OLB (Coples is not a LB)
1 ILB (Time to move on from Harris and let Demario be the guy)
2 CB (We need guys that cover enough to let the d line do its work)
2 Guards (one top tier and one mid tier/backup to compete with Odie)
1 QB (either a new starter or something mid tier/backup to compete with Geno)
1 WR (we need either a number one type or a upper mid type with some length. Harvin isn't it)
1 FS (How the f*** do we not have even a single half assed FS?)

That's 10 players we NEED to bring in to solidify our roster. That's without taking out any of our trash, and there is a bit of it. Maybe we get 3 guys out of the draft and 3-4 guys out of FA. That still leaves 3-4+ guys to pick up. The Jets need to start moving in the right direction and that direction is NOT giving Revis 12-15 mil.

So Revis got his ring. Plus he for the first time in his career played for a superior organization and a great coach. So it's up to him on what he wants. Of course it's our hope that in Bowles we have a Belichick not another clown like Rex.

We drafted him. He has already said in the past that is huge to him, because we took a chance on him.

Sure he likes playing for Rex, but he didn't draft him.

Well then, thank God that you aren't the GM. Re-signing Revis would be the most moronic thing that the Jets could do.

I have no desire to see Revis in a Jets uniform ever again. He should stay in New England. He's a great fit there on several different levels.

Maccagnan and Bowles simply do not need the headache that is Revis. Despite the drop in quality of our CB play over the past couple of seasons, it has been nice not to have someone on the team throw a hissy fit every offseason like some kind of 2 year old because he's not making Peyton Manning or Tom Brady money.

With the amount of money Maccagnan has to work with he should be able to address the CB position without having to bring that nonsense back into the organization.
