Another Strawman. The crows don't fly around your house, do they? Where did I say ability not production? You are so enamored with his fantasy stats that you don't dig deeper to what is occurring during his production. You are certainly entitled to your opinion that being able to hit 3 and 4 yards passes because you can quickly identify the mismatches the system creates over and over with interchangeable receivers is greatest of all time ability.
was "strawman" on your word a day calendar today? your quote: sounds like you are saying mostly ability. he's had the worst talent around him of all the big time QBs of his generation.
I'm not with this argument on ability. Sure Rodgers and manning may be more talented but what good is talent if you aren't executing the greatest when it counts? Brady is so consistent and deadly accurate on his short/mid game so he gets credit for a lot of the yards after the catch. At the end of the day you can make all the excuses you want, but Brady consistently gets results. I never got to see Montana play but Brady is without a doubt the greatest of this era
How are those receivers always open if they are so talentless? What is Brady doing to get them open immediately if he is the one making them better and therefore deserving of the applaud for their success? Please explain. He makes so few difficult completions it is ridiculous.
his ability to read a D, anticipate and know where to put the ball mean nothing? I must have missed all the wide open WRs, I saw some open WRs but balls placed in good position to get some YAC. Seattle is a great D, you take what they give you and that's what he did. he took a couple of shots downfield, completed the one TD to Gronk and nearly had a 2nd one to him but he doesn't have any real deep threats. I have no issue w/ someone making a case for a few other QBs but I do find it a bit silly to ignore accomplishments and discuss ability.
No way. Too much fishy shit floating around his legacy... played a hell of a game yesterday... he and everyone else knew they had no business winning that game though after "The Catch pt. 3"... but whatever. I'm sick to my stomach. I hate the patriots
sorry but all his wins have * and he is no where near Montana, Bradshaw. Different era those guys if they played now would be killing it. susn could not hold their jocks
Hitting guys coming perfectly out of their breaks, waiting for a guy to come open, going to the correct read, etc. are a lot more important to being a great Quarterback than just "making difficult throws". He has made plenty of difficult throws but he more often makes it look easy by mastering the mental aspect of the job. It is always something being thrown out there as a knock on Brady.
Yesterday's game came down to one play, which was totally out of Brady's control. If Lynch scores- why would that hurt Brady's legacy?
Another Super Bowl lost with 2 interceptions that would have likely cost him the game. They won, so it doesn't matter but had they lost, Brady's two interceptions would have been the center of attention, especially the one he threw in the red zone
Brady's fourth quarter numbers yesterday... 14/16, 123 Yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, 138.3 QB Rating It's hard to compare across eras but he is clearly the best QB of his era. Four Super Bowl rings compared to one for Peyton. That is no longer a debate IMO. Brady vs Montana is a tough one.
If you compare their careers as starters its eerily similar. One thing Montana has is reaching a SB with another team in another conference
I just think it's silly someones legacy can come down to one play like that. Brady's one of the best of all time...at the end of the day calling someone the GOAT is entirely subjective imo.
Brady won't survive 4 games vs the blitz happy Bowles and Rex next year. Somebody is gonna knock the shit out of him.
I dont see how anyone could view being 3-3 in the Super Bowl as a bad thing. 6 appearances in itself is ridiculously good.
Montana was in the West Coast offense and he threw short way more than he threw long - in fact I hardly recall him throwing deep at all. Very similar to the Patriots and Brady. Montana was more mobile, but Brady overall was at least as talented and imo a fiercer competitor. Brady's gone to 6 SB's and Montana only 4. SF missed the playoffs several time in Montana's career at SF and their playoff record was not as good as NE's. Brady now owns every meaningful postseason QB record. It's fairly close but Brady's got a better resume now and is better at the eye test as well. Better passer, and better at moving an offense.
Because he knows who to go to. Bottom line is he's the best ever at moving an offense. Seattle's great D had no chance of stopping him in the 4th qtr last night. he mixed in a few 20+ yard completions last night, they're not all 4 yards.
