I know everyone will draw parallels to drafting Gholston at 6 overall, but I truly believe a young pass rusher would be a great pick for this Jets team.

We are LOADED on the defensive line right now with Wilk, Richardson, Snacks, and Coples.

I guaranty that a young talented pass rusher would be in a great position to succeed early on and could really take this defense to another level.

I agree and have been screaming for a pass rushing OLB to be the pick for years. That said, so many 1st round picks have been used on the D while the offense has been ignored, that it would be almost criminal to take Ray or Gregory at #6. Mariota, Cooper, Peat, Green-Beckham, Winston, and DeVante Parker would all have to be gone, and even then some would scream that we should have taken Brandon Scherff.

I agree, but there are probably some fans who want the #1 pick used on an offensive playmaker who would rather that than an OLB.

Gregory is going to be an absolute stud. If he falls to us we need to take him and not think twice about it.

I love Cooper and want him here but if both guys were on the board (highly unlikely) Id still take Gregory over him.

I think at this point the first round pick has to be Gregory or Ray (if we don't trade up for a QB). Our talent at OLB is below average and you won't be able to draft these kinds of athletes and natural pass rushers in the 2nd round. Our WR's and TE's are decent if we keep Harvin. Not to mention guys like Strong, Coates, and Green-Beckham could be available at the top of the 2nd round (or we could even trade up to the late first for not too much). Our conservative offensive philosophy and below average QB is what held the offense back, not the WR's.

We need a legit PR OLB but it all depends who falls to us.. If cooper or one of the QBs fall we take one.. If not I'm fine with taking Gregory, Williams or Ray.

Draft BPA unless the guy is a carbon copy of Mo or Richardson. Neither of those guys are pure pass rushers so I would do it. I'd rather take a natural 3-4 OLB who can also play the position well though.

Weird thing about Ray... I saw a lot of his sacks come lined up as a DT on third down next to Golden. Guards in college were no match for his quickness when he doesn't have to worry about them bowling him over in the run game. JMObservation.

I think Randy Gregory is the best player in this draft, I agree with you - you def take him over Cooper.

Leaning towards Eli Harold / Nate Orchard with our 2nd rounder or either Lorenzo Mauldin / Hauoli Kikaha with our 3rd rounder (as they stand now / pre-combine).

I'm becoming a fan of Hauoli Kikaha pretty quickly actually.

What do people think of Vic Beasley? Shaq Thompson? I would love for Gregory to fall to us but I'm not sure it will happen. Dante Fowler Jr? Bud Dupree? Paul Dawson looks like a beast....Markus Golden could be had in the later rounds potentially...Spaight from Arkansas might be good but is undersized

Agreed. Fan of both Harold and Orchard, if we don't sign an OLB in FA I would like to get either one.

Beasley is your ideal pass rusher, best first step in the nation. The problem with him is that's all he is, a pass rusher. He can't stop the run and can't rely on him in coverage.

Shaq is an interesting prospect. I believe he's played LB, S and RB so he's definitely a jack of all trades. He would need to put weight on if he wants to play OLB, but I see him more as a safety.

Paul Dawson is one of the more complete linebackers in this class, don't think he will fall to the second but I would love it. Natural pass rusher.
