He's a fan of the contrary and it just so happens a lot of people here don't like Brady. Would you expect his opinion to be any different?

Brady>Manning. Sure the individual success from Peyton is amazing but I'm sure he'd trade most of it for just one more SB. Brady now has 4.
Montana is still ahead of Brady imo but one more ring from Brady and I'm reconsidering.

BTW, I'm not saying Brady is the best of all time. It is a very subjective argument and depends on what people think is the more important criteria.

He's the most successful for certain, whether he deserves all the credit for that is up to each person's opinion.

Gotta give Brady respect, 4TDs on the best defense of this decade. Manning couldn't even manage 1 I believe. That said, I take Montana any day of the week over Brady. The ultimate competitor.

when the pressure came, he sank low. He'd never survive in 70's and 80's with getting pounded in the face and no flags

You also have to take into account how the rules have changed to allow the WR's to essentially get a free stroll into the opponents secondary to catch a ball. You give Marino or Elway today's passing rules and Marino might have thrown for 6000 yards in a season.

Because he inherited the best team in football that went 18-1 and was one helmet catch away from winning 19 in a row? Losing five games with that bunch was not a good performance. How about you stick Cassell or Geno or some other scrub to this Pats squad. They won't win 8 games with those guys at the helm.

If Brady is one of the luckiest ever, I got two SB's as proof that things don't always go his way. And the fact that Seattle even got the chance to get to the one yard line was again because of a fluke catch that was stopped by a defender. I guess that was just a great play and not luck?

Please keep crying about cheating, I love reading insaned-filled posts on a monday. So the Pats cheated presumably to help their QB throw the ball, by making every ball have different pressure and thus making every ball act just a bit differently. And I'm sure Colts equipment manager has nothing to do with the fact that just that one ball was so out of whack compared to the others. Nope, Tommy Boy emptied the ball at the line of scrimmage because he wanted to throw an INT.

And what are all those cheating scandals? Unfinished bullshit story about ball deflation which will lead to nothing and spygate? What else? Oops, big fat nothing. Tuck rule was an actual rule that was called during that season before the Brady game. Lets just forget all the logic and facts, makes for better rants.[/QUOTE]

Brady is a distant fourth behind Montana Manning and Marino

Win-loss are stats; I don't get deceived by fantasy stats, I dig deeper and understand the context behind the stats.

That is just a specious argument and can be countered just as equally with the question how many SB's has Brady won without the system?

My argument wasn't dependent on win-losses it was examining the actual plays in the games; you simply want to stop at fantasy stats. Brady isn't asked to make many difficult throws because the system is fantastic and gets guys open on short passes.

You are arguing that because Belichick failed prior to Brady it is impossible that he has learned more since then and created a system perfect for a great QB who us perfect for it. If that's the case, show us the context that supports such an argument that puts the success primarily on Brady for those receivers being open on three yard throws; don't simply resort to fantasy stats.

Brady probably should phone Pete Carroll and thank him for blowing the game

If you did dig deeper you'd understand why NE became a dynasty the instant Brady became the starter when they were heading toward another coaching change and years of mediocrity prior to that.

"Brady isn't asked to make many difficult throws"? who cares? if what that "system" was doing was so easy for a QB than Geno Smith would be running it and be successful. That system almost got BB run out of the league as a HC w/ other QBs besides Brady. Brady IS THE SYSTEM.

Bill did not run this spread offense system during his years in Cleveland... he's created a new beast, that is primarily focused on attacking the middle of the field and sidelines, while deceiving the defense with various looks and forcing them to pick their "posion" . The Patriots run route combinations and concepts, that other teams in the league have yet to master; they're one step ahead of the league. Now, Brady is still great but discrediting Bill is silly IMO. His system has helped make Tom Brady the powerhouse he is today.

except I have always said we made it primarily with defense, I just don't do what the average fan does and bash Mark Sanchez as if he had nothing to do with it.

1 postseason in 5 seasons, 1 postseason win(WC rd at home), never even reached a title game. It was a failure and NE was starting out as a failure until Tom Brady stepped on the field.

Brady made Belichick, BB would be a DC somewhere today if not for Brady. Does that mean BB isn't a great coach? of course not, he developed into one over time thanks to Brady giving him time but in 4 of the 5 SBs going into last night his D's either blew or tried to blew SBs late and last night they were a yard away from doing it again.

Manning is an all time great, he's just not in the discussion for greatest of all time like Brady is and the last 2 SBs illustrated this.

yep, he calls the plays that he can't execute in big games.

They said the same thing about Joe Montana and an old, broken down Montana took KC to an AFC Championship Game w/o the SF system in 1993. KC hasn't won a playoff game since and only had 1 playoff win from 1970-1992 pre Joe.

Brady would win anywhere but it has been proven BB has not been able to win w/o Brady.

He did not have great games BUT:

-NYG was playing like a GREAT Defense and carred both NYG teams to SBs
-Brady left the field late in both games w/ leads.

did they shut down what many believe is the best QB in the game in the NFC Championship Game? SEattle's D was playing as well, if not better, than last year coming into this SB.

    Otto is right up there.

do you remember the in the grasp rule in the 80s?

ok, so? I don't think he is the best b/c of his yardage totals or b/c of any individual stats.

so this beats was created week 3 of the 2001 season? why couldn't he even make the playoffs in 2008 w/ a future PB QB and an undefeated team?

It's amazing how Bill became a genius HC the moment Brady stepped on the field. The same guy that just gave Bledsoe a huge extension months earlier off a 5-11 season.

    why do you follow me?

Brady has consistently won w/ inferior talent. Of course it isn't all the QB but those NE teams would have been nowhere near a SB w/o him. This is a man that made championship games w/ Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his main weapons in 2006 and the garbage he had in 2013(w/ an ailing Gronk).

stop whining, this is MY OPINION. If you don't like it post yours, stop acting like a 5 year old w/ your asinine responses.

Well, Seattle shut down a Packers team with a banged up Rodgers.. Seattle as a unit this season did not have as much depth as they did last season, and unfortunately they lost key pieces in the big game yesterday. IMO Seattle's defense last season was/is better than their defense last year. They're already a thin group on the DL and losing Avril just hurt them even more.

You need players to execute a system, there's no denying that, but I just don't understand how you can discredit Bill and his offensive system. The concepts that the run, such as the Y concept, are pretty much unstoppable.
