Those black headphones? He's been rocking them all playoffs. Better not be Beats though or he'll get fined. Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
I'm with Junc, Brady is best all time. Montana was great, but I think he had a lot better receiving corps, better running game, and better defenses throughout his career. NE has found some magic voodoo shit, where every dub they sign becomes great while with them.
I saw Montana play, I have no issue w/ anyone calling Montana #1. Peyton doesn't belong in the same sentence as Brady. Brady is light years ahead of peyton. All we have to do is look at the last 2 SBs, Brady down 10 in the 4th against same D leads O to 14 pts, Manning w/ far superior weapons on O leads his O to 8 pts in garbage time all game. Even had Sea scored and they won Brady would have led his team back from down 10 against that D in the SB and his D would have blown a 3rd SB. You can only do so much. so when the 49ers scripted plays and then their headset went out meaning the opponent had to stop communication w/ the box where was the integrity? all of these NE issues are overblown, you think Belichick just learned how to bend the rules in 2001? How many SBs has that "system" won? Bill Belichcik is a complete failure as a HC w/o Tom Brady. It's amazing how that system has only worked w/ Tom Brady.
It also sucks that 2 of the greatest ever played in our division. I despise Brady and Marino but as a football fan respect and appreciate their greatness.
I agree about him not being immortal, but he can still be an effective system QB and win another championship. I'd put the odds at 50% of another championship and any team would take those odds.
If Carroll/Bevell don't make the dumbest playcall in NFL history (not hyperbole), right now we're laughing about how maybe next year Brady can make the Super Bowl again so he can go for Jim Kelly's record of most Super Bowls lost in a career.
Peyton is far better than Brady. There are those who understand the QB position, and others who give team accomplishments to QB's like junc.
Peyton is nowhere near Brady, it's not even a discussion. w/ MUCH more talent he led his O to 8 pts in garbage time last year against same D that Brady w/ much less talent led his O to 14 pts in the 4th qtr becoming first team to trail by 10 in 4th qtr of SB and win. There is no comparison btw the 2, one is a #s guy, the other is a winner.
This is a good point. He gives credit to Sanchez for the back to back AFCCG Jets teams. Having said that, if you don't give credit to Brady for last night, you can never give credit to any QB for a victory. I'm OK with that, it's a team game. Relative to most QB performances in the 4th quarter, that is one for the ages.
I don't think you can look at Belichek's first go round with the Browns and deem him a "complete" failure. He did make the play-offs and beat Parcells in a play-off game. He had a lot to learn and a lot to deal with, like ditching a legend (Kosar) for a replacement he wanted with a checkered past(Testaverde) and dealing with a franchise location change. Pretty heavy stuff. And I think he did learn a lot by the time he got to New England, including his ability to master "technology". He may have foond a willing conspirator in Kraft that he didn't have in Cleveland (Modell) or NYJ (Woody). Actually, I think Belichek made Brady more than Brady made Belichek, but they are truly the perfect match for each other.
Passing is a joke these days though. To give you an idea. Montana started for SF from 1979 to 1990. That would be 12 years. 2 of those years contained strikes. So if I exclude those years, we go to 10 years. In those 10 years, there was: 5000 yard passers - 1 (0.1 avg) 4000 yard passers - 15 (1.5 avg) 3000 yard passers - 109 (avg 10.9) From 1991 to 2000 (year before Brady started in NE) is another 10 years 5000 yard passers - 0 (0.0 avg) 4000 yard passers - 24 (2.4 avg) 3000 yard passers - 97 (avg 9.7) Now with Brady's career from 2001 to present that's 14 years 5000 yard passers - 7 (0.5 avg) 4000 yard passers - 82 (5.9 avg) 3000 yard passers - 168 (avg 12) So during Montana's era, on average 1.6 guys would get above 4000 passing yards. In Brady's era, 6.4. Above 3000, Montana: 12.5, Brady 18.4. In 2014, 11 players had over 4000 yards.
Brady has led the Pats to 3 game winning drives in the final minutes and a 4th one that put them ahead of the Giants. That's out of 6 SB's. Take away a Welker drop and a Tyree miracle and Brady has 6 SB wins. Even last nights game was almost won by the Seahawks due to a shit luck catch by the Seahawks. I was having deja vu on that bastard.
It can't be discussed because so many variables go into play. I'd rather not waste my time with it. It would be the same argument people always make. Brady definitely stepped up when he had to last night and is one of the best QB's of our lifetimes. He is up there with Montana and Manning in my book. I was too young to see Montana play in his glory days, so judging by the QB's I have seen play: I put Brady at #2 right behind Manning. Both all-time greats though.
Manning doesn't constantly look at his arm and sidelines for a play and its safe to say he also understands the game more than Brady does. But since Brady has more sb that is all people will look at. And then you have spy gate and now deflate gate both to be believed help brady get those rings. It will never happen but I would love to see brady play in a B.B less system. OK, so if we can use injuries for excuses, Brady had a hurt Gronk last SB game against the Giants, so the Giants didn't beat the Pats really?
Brady's offenses put up 14 points against an above average defense in '07, and 17 against a medicore Giants secondary in 2011... you just can't ignore this
I'm not using injuries as an excuse... I just don't it's fair to compare last year's Seahawks defense to this years Hawks defense.
