I wasn't aware of this, maybe some of you were, but this is typical Jet fortune if Wolfe's story is true. Imagine had the Jets landed Favre instead of having the trade up fall through? http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/je...ects-on-jets-and-the-almost-brett-favre-trade
Woulda coulda shoulda...Jets could have had Marino, Brady, Wilson, and everyone else we passed on. There is a story, can't dwell on this now
True, but in this case the Jets actually wanted Favre but didn't have a first round pick and the trade up fell through. The other ones the Jets just passed on, this one was one they wanted and almost had so it's a little different.
Then again had the Jets drafted Favre he would have gotten hit by a drunk driver and never played a game lol.
Typical Jets is Revis bear hugging Belichick with champagne flowing and the Lombardi in hand. Guy should have been a Jet for life and this is what happens. Best player of his generation at the CB position and we had to witness that. So Sheldon Richardson is good. Whoop-Dee-doo.... That Kodak moment encapsulates the Jet fan experience. Woody, Idzik, the franchise = Absolute joke.
No we just never catch one God damned break. Who would have known when they drafted Revis that he was an absolute greedy a-hole. Franchise players get paid, but don't hold out twice for more money than they're worth. Many of our misfortunes are the organization's fault, but the Pats stepped in shit when they found Brady that 32 teams passed on multiple times. Where the fuck is our Brady? The franchise is cursed. It's not enough that we're 4-12. We have to see a hated rival win yet another SB with one of our star ex-players. Fate has a way of really twisting the knife with Jet fans.
Yep... Good to see a new regime in place in hopes there will be significant change, but no matter who it's been, this franchise seems to have a penchant for making the wrong decisions But hey, the Pats were pretty miserable for a long time before Brady and Belichick and now they have 4 Super Bowls and 0 losing seasons over the past 14...
Favre had 24 picks his second full year with a 72.2 QB rating as opposed to Geno's 13 picks with a 77.5 QB rating. Even if we had drafted him the fans and media would be calling for a QB with the 12th pick in the 1994 draft hoping Shuler or Dilfer fell to us so it's a bit of a moot point
Your point illustrates the Jets biggest problem and is probably the reason why Wolfe went to the Pack. It's so much easier to run any other football team (especually the Packers) than to run the Jets, who are at any given time HATED by around 50% (If not more) of the community
but, but, but Idzick had a plan, it wasn't fair to fire him after two years, everyone should get a trophy, waaaahhh!
I hope Woodster feels as sick as I do this morning seeing that...or seeing that other scumbag Kraft stick it to him
This makes no sense. People don't take jobs to be liked. The Yankess are hated by well over 50% of the NY area and country yet don't have the same problems.
I thought the same. Although it doesn't really matter at this point. The housecleaning is done and the new sheriffs are already in town. Let's just hope and pray he got it right this time. I have hope.... But then again, I had hope when Idzik first took over!!
Your not getting the point. Other NFL cities support their teams and give the front office the opportunity to be patient with players, so that when a Brett Favre suffers through a 22 interception season, there aren't calls for his head like there would be here. It's not about being liked. It's about avoiding undue media pressure. And btw, you are totally wrong if you think the Yankees are hated by "eell-over" 50% of the NY area.
I would say that well over 20% of the NY area loves the Yankees, 40% likes them, 15% hates them, and the rest are indifferent to baseball even existing (most of whom would support the Yankees if they're watching a game because it's NY).
