Between the Jets forgettable season, Oregon choking in the title against the Buckeyes, and this disgusting ending to the SB resulting in the Pats winning, Im ready to watch a lot of hockey and college basketball and forget about football for a long time
Rangers fan saying you're completely wrong, but that's for another thread. I still can't get over that play call, I mean, holy crap...
refs as usual checked in with some blown calls how did they not see the NE DB trip the seattle receiver he falls down, reaches out, and trips him
The Patriots dominated them with the passing game and the only reason SEA was in position to win was because they got a fluke bounce on a bad pass that was broken up. With all the breaks they got they should have won, but the Patriots were the better team most of the night.
Well you knew that would happen from the second drive, when they called running into the kicker when it was obviously roughing by rule so that there wouldn't be a first down by penalty. They decided to swallow the whistles as much as possible.
on the way home, I heard the Westwood One postgame show in the background, Your Love by The Outfield was playing http://grantland.com/the-triangle/super-bowl-mailbag-seattle-seahawks-new-england-patriots/
The only thing on that level I can think of was Grady Little leaving a clearly drained Pedro Martinez in to die in the eighth inning of Game 7 in the 2003 ALCS. And even THAT was more understandable than this.
I know I'm late to the party (just finished cleaning up after people left the house) but wanted to pile on about that being a terrible, terrible play call. I thought it was the Tyree catch all over again and with Lynch a yard out with four attempts and having a few time outs how could they lose? But, yeah, they found a way. Great play by that rookie though, if he even identifies that play a half second later it's a reception at least and more likely a TD.
