Just how much do you think Cro will play for? The vet minimum? 1M? And Revis sure as hell wouldn't compromise so he can play with Cromartie again... I guess people can dream about Revis coming back, but Revis AND Cro... Give me a break
16 million per year for a CB? That might be reason to pick another team to root for. that would be abominable if they do that considering the state of the team
Where are you getting $5-6 million? He signed with Arizona for $3.5 million, including his $1 million signing bonus.
Yeah coming off of a terrible season he got that much. He just played at a Pro Bowl level in 2014. And now he's going to take a pay cut?
Jet haters love to say "we have a ton of holes" year after year. We could win the Super Bowl, and next offseason those same haters would still just blindly say "Jets have a ton of holes" without even thinking about it. ....fact is, right now, we are a pretty solid roster top to bottom. We have a few key holes, but we are not that far away people! Fact is .... if we get Revis and Demaryius Thomas (a longshot I know), we will be a Super Bowl contender next season, I can almost guarantee it! (even if the rest of the roster is unchanged). The risky, but smart, thing to do would be to pour all our FA money into those 2 guys. The Jets never do that kind of thing, but we have a new GM and coach so who knows?
gonna have to outbid everyone they lost there one in with rex but i cant see him going to the bills at all
I'll be glad when Mevis retires. I'm sick of all the talk about him. There had better not be any truth to this. One doesn't win a SB because of the CB. The Jets have too many needs to sink that much money into Revis. Revis is the past. Even if he wasn't so greedy, the new regime shouldn't even think of going back there. That will just bring the circus back. If they bring Revis back, then I'll start having doubts about this new regime.
Stop it. Don't be an ass. Just because some of us think the team has more holes than you doesn't mean that we're "Jets haters." If you think the Jets could win a SB next season with Revis and DT with Geno at QB, then you're not dealing with reality but some fantasy world and you lose all credibility. That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen posted on the internet. We have no FSs on our roster. At present we have no starting quality CBs. We don't have a quality QB. We have a questionable OL at best. We have one quality WR. Kerley is inconsistent and disappears too often. We have ancient OLBs. We have an old and slow staring ILB. If you think we have no holes, then you don't know spit about the Jets or about football.
Revis would take it to the Jets financially and the Patriots will help them to get the Jets to do anything stupid to fuck up our organization. Hopefully Mac will talk some financial logic to Woody who because of last year's criticism might be willing to go from one extreme to another. The Jets got the best years out of Revis. And then made a good trade after he was injured. So why overpay him now when his game and physical ability to cover will be going down. Very doubtful NEP is giving him the 20 mil. But they'll try to jack up the price. Let him go to Rex who doesn't care about details like money.
Anybody else here hate him, and never wants him back? I really couldn't care less about this. In fact it's upsetting. Why would we go after quite possibly the most selfish player in the league? I want team players, NOT Mevi$.
Anyone who has to resort to the terms "haters" or "homers" knows they are cornered and this is their way of clawing out. It's ok that other people have a different opinion. I'm sorry but I don't know how a team that is picking 6th in this year's draft has only a few holes. You don't spend $12 mil (at least) to fill just one of them for the next two years. That's irreaponsible. It's Tannenbaum-esque.
"Ancient OLBs"??? Quinton Coples is "ancient"? Demario Davis is a young stud at ILB. Harris is a little old but can still play. Pace has at least one more year left. And you can find solid LBs in the middle rounds of the draft. We have a dominant, young DL, solid safeties (Calvin Pryor is a 1st round pick entering year 2, should improve greatly), Antonio Allen is solid, Landry is solid, Millner when healthy can play CB, that young guy Williams showed promise, ......so our D is really solid. Chris Ivory is a poor man's LeGarrette Blount, Powell is a great backup, we have a pair of solid TEs, Decker is great when the offense is playing well, Kerley is a rock solid possession receiver....the offensive line is solid but could use an upgrade at guard and RT. So, looking at our roster objectively, we could use a top CB, a young OLB, and a G and RT on the offensive line. That's pretty much it. We are stuck with Geno since it's a lousy QB draft and no good FA QBs out there, but Geno has shown he has a lot of upside and can play well when he has the right pieces around him. Gailey is a huge upgrade at OC and should work wonders with him. Listen, if you want to be pessimistic like the SOJ haters you can, that's your right. But you have to admit that everything I said above is true. You really don't think that with a top CB bolstering our already great D, and a top WR to go along with Decker, Ivory, and an improving 3rd year QB, we can't be much improved next year???? ...... REALLY?!?!
Lol only with the Jets do you pursue a guy you traded three years ago....This is about one year to late.....Should have never traded him to begin with.We could have still drafted Sheldon and Kept Revis
Giving up a reception every two passes thrown in his direction, and you think he was great and HUGE for them? LMAO! That's awful. No way he's worth what he will want.
We have to admit everything you said is true? That would just be lying. I don't think too many people would agree with you, but they are just haters right?
Why is it "one year too late"??? Revis is still the best CB in the league (even counting the MOUTH that roars in Seattle), and he's still in his prime. Everyone in the league outside of NY knew how stupid it was for us to let him go in the first place....the guy shuts down 1/2 of the field all by himself, and it's no stretch to say that with Revis this year the Jets would be 9-7 or even better, and the Pats would not be in the SB....that's the kind of difference maker Revis truly is! Everyone here is just holding a grudge against him for his negotiating tactics in the past and their hatred for Revis is preventing them from thinking clearly about this....Revis and a top WR and we are a SB contender next year, I'm convinced of that (assuming Bowles can coach of course, but all signs point to him being a winner).
Well, what specifically do you disagree with? You don't say what's wrong with what I said, and you don't correct my statements, so am I to conclude that you don't really know and are just blindly attacking me??
not sure why you think he only has 2 years left.. in terms of 12M for any one player, i guess you don't want to re-sign Wilk, or get a guy like Houston or Thomas in FA either. it's alright to spend a lot for one player. you just need to make sure its the right guy.
