If he retires then I would definitely put the Jets as strong suitors to land a guy like Thomas. He'd be a great addition. You could then let Harvin walk.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/13216/demaryius-thomas See if you can figure out when Peyton joined the team. This would be a bad signing.
Just as Decker said, he doubts DT is a FA come March. There is such a small chance that he becomes a FA it is not worth even considering. If he does, you let him write his own check.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/30/demaryius-thomas-some-broncos-looked-past-colts/ Thomas stirring things up a bit. Basically says last year's Broncos had more fight than this years. If Peyton retires and Thomas wants a fresh start somewhere else the new staff in Denver might not want to keep an unhappy player. Just saying, stranger things have happened.
DT, Decker, Kerley and Amaro are some good weapons any person on here that says they wouldn't want DT is an idiot
Come on dude. You can't be this stupid. They said the same shit about Decker. Well, last season Decker dealt with an injury and was being thrown the ball from Geno Smith and a few times by Michael Vick. In that season, he finished with 962 yards and 5 TD. Guys like DT and Decker are talented. They produce because they have the skillset to do so.
As I stated before Decker in 2013 87 catches, 1,288 yards and 11 TDs Decker in 2014 74 catches, 962 yards and 5 TDs With one less game in 2014 and missing parts of game while injured. If healthy his numbers (aside from TDs) could have been just as good with Geno Smith as Peyton. The whole only good with Peyton thing doesn't fly. That was proven wrong with Decker.
I responded to him also and then realized who the member was. Just move on. You're not gonna be able to talk logically with a Patriots fan, especially one on a Jets forum. He's still stuck in denial about his team being a bunch of cheaters.
My concern right now is tampering... since he's still under contract, it's not okay for Decker to be telling him he should join the Jets. He's not officially a free agent yet, and I'd hate to see the Jets get slapped with multiple tampering penalties.
Let's all just pretend the Pats troll doesn't exist. It's be a sad sad life when your team is two days away from playing in a Super Bowl and you're trolling a Jets website.
Imagine if we could sign Thomas, and keep Harvin? Thomas-Decker-Harvin would be among the best (if not, the best) trio of WR's in the league. Kerley would be traded in this scenario to free some cap room, and cause he'd be expendable.
Thats to much money tied up into the receiver position though. Idzik paid Kerley before he walked out the door.
It was also proven with Tebow throwing to Thomas. Sure Thomas wasn't catching 15 TDs with Tebow throwing to him but he still got his.
Who's to say Geno wouldn't make a huge leap in year 3 with Demaryius Thomas, Decker, and Kerley to throw to, not to mention Amaro and Cumberland at TE. That's a big time fleet of targets that would help any QB immensely! (and don't forget Morningweg gone is addition by subtraction as well)
On top of that I feel like you add a top OL in round one and a solid free agent OL and any QB you plug in can be successful.
