I'm Saying that Memphis is 13-7 with losses to Baylor by 28. Bradley by 28, and Stephen A Austin by 8.

They are not a good team.

While not a terrible entry junc, there are a few things that should be pointed out in your 'ACC shill' of a post:

    1. Virginia and Duke are ranked #2 and #4 respectively. While Louisville is ranked in the top 10 at #10, North Carolina is distantly ranked #13. You ALWAYS give top billing to the top teams. Here you've mistakenly put the cart before the horse. No big deal, just learn from this mistake. : )

    2. Duke (the institution) is a proper noun and as such should always be capitalized. Only in the gramatical gender system of noun classification should you spell it duke. Again, no big deal, just learn from this mistake as well least people think you went to school at UNC. : )

And that's just the beginning of a brutal stretch that follows:
    • The Santa Clara Broncos
    • The San Francisco Dons
    • The Loyola Marymount Lions
    • The Pepperdine Waves (*waves* 'yoo hoo! ...hi Gonzaga!')
    • The Pacific Tigers (home of the immortal Bruce Coslet)
Did you know? Bruce Coslet had a better winning pct. with the Jets (.406 - holy Ted Williams!) than with the Bengals (.379).

They didn't schedule Memphis last week, this was done a long time ago assuming Memphis would be good like usual.

I appreciate you being such a big fan, I really do. I also appreciate you trying to be funny, sometimes you have hits and others misses. This one is a miss though.

Any reasonable fan would hope for .500 over that stretch! That, plus their 2-1 record against the AP top 25 should be enough for a one seed.

So they should get credit for beating the Memphis team of three years ago? That's sound logic when dealing with Gonzaga these days.

you can't control if a team will be good but they scheduled a program that is usually good.

i swear to God, junc, one of these days you will give a straight answer to a question. I'll make it multiple choice for you.

When the selection committee reviews the inevitable Gonzaga win against Memphis, should Gonzaga get credit for beating:

    A) A memphis team that is 13-7 with losses to Baylor by 28. Bradley by 28, and Stephen A Austin by 8.

    or

    B) The team they were three years ago.

One of these days you will look at things realistically and not through your irrational hatred of Gonzaga. Memphis is a good program, it's bad luck for Gonzaga that Memphis is down this year but I give them credit for scheduling a Memphis. Does it help them this year? of course not but that doesn't mean they should be slammed b/c Memphis is down. They play at Memphis next year, chances are Memphis will be good again and it will help their sched next year. You just have to bash everything Gonzaga b/c of your insane jealousy of that program.

So you think they should get credit for playing NEXT year's Memphis team this year?

where did I say that? you were bashing them for playing Memphis, just pointing out how asinine that is. Again, they didn't schedule Memphis 2 weeks ago, it was done years ago. it's like bashing 'Nova for playing Michigan this year.

How do you equate giving Gonzaga credit for beating a team that is 13-7 with losses to Baylor by 28. Bradley by 28, and Stephen A Austin by 8 with "bashing"? How is giving them credit for what the win actually is "bashing" in your mind?

I am not giving them extra credit, I am not giving them anything for this game. I give them credit for scheduling the game in the first place against a quality program. It will not help them this year, in a normal year it will help them.

Oh dear junc, are you that attention starved that you'd confuse constructive criticism with fandom? No, my mirthless little friend, I was just trying to be helpful (though the "least they think you went to school in Carolina" was funny <---could've been taken more than one way; a good rule of thumb when it comes to humor). But ok miffed missy, you want to get down to brass tacks? Your Louisvile, Carolina, Virginia and duke reads pretty childish don't you think? o_O

It's North Carolina.. not Carolina. We wouldn't people to confuse them with the real Carolina that plays in Columbia, SC.

Does that mean you didn't mean what you said about Gonzaga? :(

No one thinks of South Carolina when they hear Carolina.

Joe: would you prefer I write "dook"?

Wow Junc, your hatred of Coach K and Duke is obviously envy at its best.
These "facts" you posted are silly. What a joke. Nothing you posted is remotely true.

Since this thread's about college basketball that's pretty much true.

    Dodge. Duke.
