Ftr I do not think Marty was a bad OC by any stretch. His big problem was Smith, and we have every reason to believe the FO was insisting Smith be played until the travesty of that first Buff game. Then it became a case of Vick's not being ready. I have a hard time blaming Marty for that, though. Marty was the best OC this team has had for a long time. I get the "that's not saying much"argument, but whether someone is a good or bad OC is, after all, a relative concept.
Not really. Pats will be really good again and Kubiak will probably reel Peyton back in for one more year. Colts will be a contender. Bengals at full strength are tough to deal with andf the Ravens took a step forward this season. There is potential for a turnaround to the 9-7 range if we get better QB play, but we are not going to be in the same league as the top AFC teams.
I have no issue with MM's play calling (although there were a few head scratchers), but he hasn't shown he can get Geno past his rookie slop. I don't think he should be the sole survivor of a 12-20 two year run with a total house cleaning around him. I like Trestman, but think he is out of the running for us. Gase I don't know a lot about, is he willing to leave his situation, to come to ours? Shanahan doesn't have a huge body of work to compare, he hasn't proven himself to be "the guy". Our new HC wants Gailey, he gets to pick. I don't think it's a terrible pick, Gailey has a good record with bad QB's on bad teams.
No. I meant relative to how some other OC would have done with last year's roster, a bad GM, and an HC who was problematic at best, especially in relation to the offense.
I feel the AFC East will be wide open next year, The dolphins are starting to beat the Pats, The Bills will split with the Pats (if E.J is not QB) and then we do our part. The Pats should not have their usual cake walk through the AFC East.
You act like the rest of the league just runs over the Patriots every year,What do they lose 4 games every year?not including playoffs.Rex always gave the team a chance to win but something would always happen big or small
I would have thought you would have figured out what's important in sports by now, but NOPE! (It's wins, BOZO!)
Next year the 9-7 Bills will start their Rex Ryan plunge toward 4-12. The Jets will improve because they finally have new management that know a lot of football stuff. Miami will drop like a dead dolphin. The Patriots will improve with a good owner, good coach, good O line, good receivers, good QB, good LB's, good TE, good secondary. Good night!
Oh sure, like the Jets are a quarterback away from "done(ing)" the Bengals, Bears, Broncos, Colts, Lions, Ravens, and Chargers? The Patriots has "done(inged)" those teams this year. Those were pretty good teams, some of whom were beaten like a drum. Beat the Patriots twice next year and your 2 - 14. More Jets fans need to come to grips with the prospect of beating a schedule of seasonal games before they start "done(ing)" championship teams. First come to grips with 4 - 12 versus 12 - 4. Then try getting to 5 - 11, work your way up to 8 - 8, before leaping all the way up to 9 - 7. Do this or wait for Belichick and Brady to both retire, because they are both standing in the way of the New York Jets "done(ing)" the New England Patriots.
Take Brady off the Pats and they are the Jets. As i said patriot lover, if we (The Jets) get the QB situation straight, The cheatriots are done!
This is hard typing I'm laughing so hard. Half of you say Brady is no good, the other half say he's the whole team.
