I love how everyone ignores the fact that at the end of the day at worst it's the word of a refs against the word of Tom Brady. You can run all the science experiments you want, if they sent the balls to the refs under inflated - that's where they'd stay.

Even if the ball boy doesn't talk. The circumstantial evidence adds up. The Patriots took all of the balls after the air pressure had been measured. It's on tape he took them into a private area. Next time they were measured only NEP balls weighed in under the weight. Colts balls were ok. It's enough information to fine and reprimand them.
If the air pressure was actually ever measured, then sure. If the NFL really had something, they wouldn't be contacting scientists themselves to see what happens. For all you know this is all been about going after the refs.

The NFL didn't contact Bill Nye the Science Guy or Tyson. They did it on their own. After Belichick's ridiculous Science Project presser.
The nfl has all they need -- underinflated balls. They are helping the patriots by investigating it because it could exonerate them. The nfl doesn't have to prove how and who; they may prefer to do so but it isn't required and they certainly wouldn't be offending public opinion, which is the leagues main concern, if they punished the pats without any additional proof.
To be fair, Tyson has backed off slightly. I believe he changed the temperature from 125 to 90. Not saying it means much, but it does hurt his credibility slightly on the subject.
