Roy is vastly underpaid and doesn't have to fake interest in other jobs to get a raise or more power.
I despise K as a basketball coach but he has the results on his resume to back up being called one of the all time greats.
The Heels tried to give away the game for SU for about 3/4 of that game w/ TO after TO but played really well down the stretch pulling away and getting their 6th straight win. Huge 2 game stretch coming up- at UL Saturday and home vs. UVa on Monday. I am hopeful for at least a split.
I'm very concerned about Gonzaga being able to hold of that monster Portland team coming to visit them.
Junc, humor me on this one. Give me a straight answer: St. Mary's is long considered the second best team in the WCC. What place do you think they would finish in the ACC?
I have no idea, they wouldn't be near the top but neither would a team like Villanova. The ACC is very good at the top right now. Gonzaga plays in a weak conference, we get it. It doesn't mean they aren't good. are they 20-1 good or whatever their record is? No but they are still a legit top 3-4 seed in the Tourney.
But that's my point! I could deal with them being a 3 or 4 seed. But they are going to go into the NCAA Tournament as the AP #1 team and HANDED a 1 Seed!
See, this is where we disagree. UK AND UV will lose a game: As good as they are (And they are both very, VERY good) it is near impossible to go undefeated in either of those conferences. Meanwhile, Gonzaga WILL go undefeated for the remainder of the year (please look at who Memphis lost to before mentioning them) , and slip right into #1. Has the AP #1 team going into the tournament EVER not gotten a 1 Seed?
#1 ranking means not mean #1 seed. Right now I wouldn't be annoyed if they got that 4th 1 seed. I think at this moment they deserve it but other teams have a chance to beat better teams down the stretch and win tougher conf tourneys to move past Gonzaga even if they have more losses
Good game last night w/ duke at ND. duke had a 10 pt lead w/ about 7-8 mins or so but ND went on a great run to end the game and won a squeaker. As great as Okafor is he struggles at the line and missing 4 of 5 FTs late really kept ND in it and killed duke. duke dropped their 3rd ACC game, if they have any chance at the reg season title they will need to win at UVa Saturday.

Who cares? My eyes will be glued to my set watching little, scrappy, underdog Gonzaga slay the might Goliath that is Memphis! Did you know that Memphis actually plays in a conference that has MULTIPLE teams qualifying for the NCAA Tournament? What a INSURMOUNTABLE challenge for those lovable 'Zags!
are you saying Memphis is a bad program? They are having a down year but that is a good program and I applaud Gonzaga for scheduling them. Gonzaga knows they have a weak conf but they are never afraid to play good opponents out of conference.
