It's pretty much the pickle the league is in from all the mess ups this year specifically. They can't just get to the answer quickly to make it seem like the rush to punish and burn the tapes last time. They have to use the forensics team to prove that there was human element at hand. The opportunity, the testing of the balls pre, in game and post, and the video showing a Pats locker room attendant going into a place where we couldn't be seen to raise doubt. The person is to take the balls right to the field. if the bathroom (people in pats forums are saying this bathroom is near the field and is used for players in game) is that close to the field, he could drop the balls off and easily come back to pee. This is an orchestrated cheating effort..... it's all calculated to raise a 50/50 proposition when defending from the Pats point of view.
He gave them video of him entering a small bathroom with two bags of footballs on the way to the field. If he clams up, it just makes it worse for the entire organization.
There's no reason to turn this into an episode of CSI. It just makes them look sillier and less decisive. Roger's obviously afraid to fuck up again because he's done it so many times in the past. But if he wants to look like a real leader come out now and give us your verdict. You've had plenty of time to get the info needed. It's ten days and counting.

I think the NFL is holding off for a few reason. 1. I'll bet this ends up being in the top 3 most watched SB of all time, if not the #1 watched. 2. I think Roger already knows what he going to do and I believe he going to suspend Brady and BB for some time next season. If he did it now then he would have to answer to why they wasn't suspend for the super bowl since they was caught in playoffs doing it.
I don't understand how any rational thinking person (this excludes delusional patriots fans) would expect this scenario to happen at this point. If the NFL were going to end the investigation this early then it would have been to fully exonerate the NE team last week. There is no way the NFL will now risk the golden goose on Sunday by releasing a Pats cheat report during a week where the media is circling everyone with their parrotish behavior, the fact that the independent investigators have already announced the investigation could take "several weeks" makes it clear that they are complicit with the NFL wishes of putting it off until next week at the very earliest. But probably later. Just enjoy the squirming of Pats fans in the meantime guy. And pray that New England loses

We all know it's not going poof. Thank god for the media. The NFL has to respond somehow, and I think it's too late to fully exonerate the Patriots organization and apologize to Kraft. I guess we'll see after the Super Bowl.
Yeah no doubt, get the facts straight and move on to an epic Super Bowl. Instead a group of lawyers are sniffing around scientists to find the real truth about the effect of atmospheric pressure on a Wilson football and also seeing how fast a person can deflate 12 footballs in a bathroom. Pats fans are going poof in their pants no matter how they deny it. New England better win this game decisively so they can strut for a week or so before the hatchet comes whistling at their necks
The NFL is playing this right. This Super Bowl should have sky high ratings because of the matchup and the scandal. Unless they can fully exonerate the Pats, they should wait until after the Super Bowl to mete out any punishment. Otherwise, they have to consider some punishment that includes the Super Bowl. That could kill ratings. Conducting a "thorough" investigation (i.e. delaying any findings) will both protect the Super Bowl and give some measure of integrity to the NFL's handling of this matter.
As the world turns.... nothing happens. NFL has nothing, because nothing happened. And nobody knows if that 11 out of 12 balls 2 psi under report is legit, in all this time there has not been another source verifying this. Mortensen gets everything wrong.
it wont be that simple....this would be a second recorded offense and a history of continuing to cheat, coupled with all the bar-room scuttlebut and interviews with ex players and coaches that the tip of iceberg is still down under the waterline.
All 12 balls failed, did you not hear that report on...oh wait...you prob didn't... mike Pereria was on mad dog radio last night.... Said the the head ref Anderson is very anal, and he has no doubt that all balls were measured before the game with a device, and not just squeeze tested. 11 balls were under inflated and the 12th ball was the one that Jackson intercepted and was also under inflated. But they kept that separate (presumably bc it went through a different chain of custody). He said the officials were late at the 2nd half because they hadn't finished getting all of the Pats balls re inflated to spec as they only really have about 12 minutes. He said they only measured some of the Colts balls for reference and this is where the report that the Indy balls were still in check.
