I disagree. Unless the Jets bring in a rookie, Ivory and Powell don't need a RB coach. I'm assuming CJ will no longer be on the team, and the Jets will either sign a vet FA or draft a rookie.
Is Ivory a player you build your team around? No, so they can get any coordinator they want. If Ivory was a top 5 back I would be bitching but how many good years does he have left in him? Is there anyone on this offense that starts that will be on this team starting in 2017? Start clean, cause what we got now is not working.m
Wait, are you advocating getting rid of ivory? That's sort of what it sounds like. We have him under contract and he has really low mileage for a power running back. I'm not saying you build an offense around him but if Gailey can set a stretch passing game that makes defenses spread out then a guy that can run power between the tackles without a FB is a pretty hot commodity.
Todd Bowles Names 3 Offensive Position Coaches Posted 6 hours ago Randy LangeEditor-in-Chief, newyorkjets.com@rlangejets Blog: Randy's Radar Steve Marshall Takes Over Jets' O-Line, Kevin Patullo Quarterbacks & Marcel Shipp Running Backs Three offensive position coaches have been named to Jets head coach Todd Bowles' coaching staff — Steve Marshall as offensive line coach, Kevin Patullo as quarterbacks coach, and Marcel Shipp as running backs coach. Steve Marshall, Offensive Line Marshall's first pro-level coaching assignment was with the Texans in 2002-05. He also was with the Browns in 2007-08 and joined the Packers staff last season as assistant offensive line coach. Before and during that time he also coached on the college level at New Mexico State, Colorado, California, North Carolina, Texas A&M, UCLA, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Murray State, Louisville, Marshall and Plymouth State. Kevin Patullo, Quarterbacks Patullo, a Hillsborough, NJ, native who was the Titans' assistant wide receivers coach last year, will be in charge of developing the Jets' quarterbacks along with offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. Patullo served three years on Gailey's Bills staff from 2010-12 as offensive quality control and assistant wideouts coach and also was on Herm Edwards' Chiefs staff in '07-08. Marcel Shipp, Running Backs Shipp coached alongside Bowles as an intern on the Cardinals staff in 2013, then last year was named running backs coach at his alma mater, Massachusetts. He was a Cardinals RB for seven seasons from 2001-07, was on the Texans' offseason roster in '08, and spent four seasons with the United Football League's Las Vegas Locomotives, three as a player and 2012 as a coach. Shipp was born in Paterson, NJ, played his high school ball at Passaic Tech in nearby Wayne, and had an outstanding playing career at UMass.
No but there are 10 other starters Plus who runs a one back system? Crying about an offensive coordinator is petty these guys move like crazy
The hell are you talking about with "crying"? You think I don't like Chan or something? And where are you getting this one back system stuff from? Didn't you even read my posts?
No I'm not, you just can't comprehend my words. You assumed that I was against Gailey. That's stupidity. Get an English book or something.
Wrong stick to the point then get back to me. Show me where I assumed where you are against Gailey. But thinking a running back that is good when he is just average is just wrong. No plain English there, it's called learn football. I won't get into this with you since you want to fight to just to fight.
Nope You can't read Then accused me. You are pulling shit out of your place where the moon doesn't shine,
Ivory is not just average, you're wrong, or the scale or metrics you use to judge RBs is effed up. The idea of getting rid of Ivory is nuts. He has been a great Jet. He was underutilized by that numb nuts MM. He often was one of the few players who were busting their butts on the field and giving their all. Much of his yardage was on his own after he broke a tackle or two. He's still relatively young, healthy and cheap. Nothing would be gained by getting rid of him. That just creates another hole at RB (CJ) being the other.
Report: Jets Will Hire Jimmie Johnson for TE coach position. Very strong hire. #NYJ http://www.ganggreennation.com/2015/1/28/7927117/report-jets-will-hire-jimmie-johnson-as-tes-coach
Another very exciting hire. Amaro has the talent to be a pro-bowl TE. This guy has a really good track record.
You have to be excited as hell for this new staff. I mean, some of them are a toss up, but many of them are excellent hires. Not to mention, we finally have an entirely new staff. Woody did the right thing here. Let Bowles and Maccagnan clear house. Something we very much needed
Seems like most of the coaching staff is from Jersey. Seems like a good thing as I would think there will be a little extra motion to be successful in your home state.
