Did my 1st Mock draft early Dec, promised one after GM & Coach hired.

I usually don't do Jet Mocks with Free Agent picks, but decided to do one this time since the Jets have a lot of Cap room and a new regime.

    Significant Jets not returning:

    P. Harvin
    C. Johnson
    M. Vick
    K. Wilson
    W. Colon
    D. Harris
    B. Powell

I believe most of these players are no surprise they won't be back.

    Jets Signed Free Agents

    Jason Worilds, OLB (Pitt)
    Jeremy Maclin, WR (Phi)
    Antonio Cromartie, CB (Az)
    Mike Iupati, OG (SF)
    Matt Moore, QB (Mia)
    Kareem Jackson, CB, (Hou)
    Larry Foote, ILB, (Az)
    Derek Newton, OT, (Hou)

Worilds is perfect for Bowle's defense and Pittsburgh can't afford him, NJ local player. Maclin wants a big pay day and the Jets can work it out. Cro is a no brainer. Iupati is as good as gone in Frisco, Brandon Thomas will take his place. Larry Foote is brought him to be a coach on the field for Bowles, a part time player at a low cost. Moore is someone to step in and possibly emerge as a good NFL QB, until the Jets can find their Franchise QB.

Trade: Jets trade 1st Rd picks with Atlanta:

Jets get Falcons #8 pick & Rd 3 Pick.
Falcons get Jets #6 pick & Rd 7 Pick

(Falcons move up to draft Shane Ray)

Both QBs, Cooper, Gregory & Ray are gone.

ROUND 1 # 8( from FALCONS) ERECK FLOWERS, OT, MIAMI...Jets get their future LT, he can play RT for one year. Flowers is my best rated OT in this Class.

ROUND 2 DENZEL PERRYMAN, ILB, MIAMI....Another Cane back to back, solves the middle for the Jets, a stay on the field MLB.

ROUND 3 JAY AJAYI, RB, BOISE STATE....Great back, especially a solid receiver, important in Gailey's offense. Need to address since Powell and Johnson are gone, a huge upgrade over both players.

ROUND 3 (from Falcons) CODY PREWITT, FS, MISS....Centerfield player that should compliment Pryor.

ROUND 4 TYLER LOCKETT, WR, KANSAS STATE....Good slot player and could play Special Teams.

ROUND 5 SHANE CARDEN, QB, E. CAROLINA....Jets need to draft A QB later on for development. I really like Carden, despite his quirky throwing motion. Really solid numbers.

    Round 6 ....Percy Harvin trade

    Round 7.....to Falcons.

I love the free agency moves;I want to restructure Harvin but I would cut him in an instant if it meant getting Maclin.

I don't know much about Flowers but I haven't seen him anywhere close to a top 10 pick. If we want him I bet we can trade back further and still get our guy.

Also just having Geno and Matt Moore (and a 5th round pick) at Qb makes me nervous. But I guess that's gonna happen regardless, unless Mariota or Winston falls.

A lot people are sleeping on Flowers, he's the best OT available in this draft, he's being undervalued by many. He's a top ten talent.

Year One we probably won't get that "franchise QB", let Moore get a shot for a few years and draft a QB in 2015 and possibly 2016 and one can develop into a great player. Mike Mac and Bowles will be given time to execute their plan.

I think that was a sure thing. I didn't mention every player that might not be back.

Can't complain if that is how FA plays out, think it's a bit unrealistic but it would definitely go a long way towards rebuilding this team.

I think Prewitt will be the guy this year that is on every Jets fans mock in the mid rounds. Understandably so since he is an absolute great fit for this team and could form a great safety tandem with Pryor for many years.

I am not at all high on taking an OL in the first this year, especially after signing Iupati and another OL in FA. For one thing I think one of the QBs is available at 6 and if so I'm not trading down for anything. If not I wouldn't mind moving down a couple spots and gain a 3rd at all but I would target one of the WRs, White or Parker.

I like Ajayi some but like some other RBs better like Duke, Abdullah.

    Love Prewitt and Lockett

Carden for me is a wasted pick and we cannot be wasting any picks. I'd hope that the new regime uses the late rd picks for high potential players.

No need for those WRs in my scenario with Maclin and Lockett.

If Cooper is gone and we don't address a solid WR in FA, I'm with you 100%

I really like Ajayi and Duke & Abdullah will be long gone at the top of rd 3.

Cody Prewitt is one of my favorites in this draft.

I think too many people are down on Carden, I see a lot of potential.

I don't know if Perryman will be there with our 2nd rounder. The ILB talent pool is very thin, but man if he's there OTC you take him no questions asked. CBS Draft compared him to London Fletcher and the times I saw Perryman play, I see Fletcher in him no doubt.

Flowers, Perryman, and Lockett? Those are 3 impact players that can contribute day 1 on the Jets.

Swap Mariota with Flowers and this is basically my dream offseason.

Love Perryman. Wanted him the worst way last year. I like Flowers a ton too.

Probably the only thing I would do is signing a top-tier FS (Rahim Moore?) instead of Jackson, and then drafting a CB (like Jalen Collins) in the 3rd. Think the talent pool at CB is deeper than safety in the draft. I think Cromartie, Milliner, McDougle, 3rd rounder, and then any CBs we retain from the current roster would make up a good CB corps even if one of McDougle/Milliner going down.

I guess I kinda ignored the Maclin signing cause I see that as the most unrealistic signing you made. I'd be very surprised if he left the Eagles and if he did don't see him choosing Jets unless we overpaid. Don't think Maclin is a WR you overpay for.

Also I'm not convinced at all that both Abdullah and Duke go before round 3. Every year you see RBs dropping and I don't think this year will be any different. It is such a stacked RB class this year and I do think the 3rd is a good time to get one so if Ajayi is best available at that point than I'm down.

Agreed on Prewitt, I hope he is a Jet.

A lot of people have mentioned in another thread they want Rahim Moore. I have concerns he's not the same player, he almost had a career ending injury. IMO, he's not the same quality player. Prewitt could come in and work well at FS.

I'm not counting on McDougle, he just can't stay healthy. If he can contribute, great, he could be a solid nickel.

Perryman is a incredible player, some compare him to Ray Lewis....the "U" connection. It will be very close Perryman will be available at the top of Rd 2, I'm hoping. I'm not a Cane fan, it just worked out these two players would be solid additions.

Excellent job.....I appreciate the time you put into this. Perhaps you set the bar a bit too high......I would be thrilled if this came true. I personally would prefer Franklin to Iupati but he may cost a bit more. The draft day trade basically gives the Jets a new FS just for trading down 2 spots. And Perryman will be the most underrated pick of the draft.....good job. An offseason like this probably puts the Jets back in the post season.

I would be all over Shane Ray if he is available. A rush LB'r should be a big priority for our front office.

I think you're giving Jets fans and the NY media (and/or Woody's priorities) too much credit. If we don't make the playoffs in the next 2 years, the Mac and Bowles era will be deemed a failure by many out there. They likely won't be right, but it will impact how the Jets act starting this off-season.

If Bowles thinks we need a big Qb upgrade to make the playoffs, he will try to make it happen sooner rather than later.

Taken care of with Jason Worilds.

Worilds is going to command big money and the Jets have the cash, the Steelers don't have the money to resign him.

You know why i love this? PERRYMAN!!! I prrrrraaaaayyyyyy he's a Jet...this whole board will love him guaranteed. I don't think Maclin will be available but if so that's a nice pick up right there. Your Free agency is beast. Nice mock brotha... Of course though we're just the jets and this involved too many big-time names... we're scared to pull the trigger and be this good lol.

Woody just blew up the management team and coaching staff, it will take time for this team to be a consistent winner. Almost all of our coaches are rookies at their positions, except Gailey. The Gm and now the Personal guy just hired are rookies.

The Jets will never be a quality team if we keep changing Coaches or GMs every 2 or 3 years. Also, to be a consistent winner we need to find that QB and that may take a couple of years.

I'm with you Man!!! I love Perryman, I'm afraid his stock may rise before April and be a solid Mid Rd 1 pick.

The "U" has had some solid MLBs......Lewis, Vilma to name a couple.
