    He was given the balls to take to the field, he did not go straight to the field, he went to another room before going to the field ergo, "they are given to the ball attendant and taken to the field, the attendant made a side trip"

    Anyway...at this point I'm almost positive the NFL won't release any information until after the Super Bowl. So just enjoy the Super Bowl, win or lose. I doubt much will come from this in the end, but there's always a chance the NFL already knows what happened and just wants to wait until after the Super Bowl in order to not ruin the biggest game of the year.
