What am I missing here? The ball boy took the possession of the balls per league rules, and did what?
The balls were moved from the refs room by the ball boy. They are not supposed to move until game time
Watched intently as they miraculously deflated by themselves before his very eyes. Something to do with atmospheric conditions. And temperature. _
I'm sorry, I wrote that wrong. The balls were moved to another room instead of straight to the field. According to Fox Sports, the NFL has identified a Patriots locker room attendant who allegedly moved balls from the officials’ locker room to another area on the way to the field for the AFC title game last Sunday.
Check my comment above. I wrote it wrong: According to Fox Sports, the NFL has identified a Patriots locker room attendant who allegedly moved balls from the officials’ locker room to another area on the way to the field for the AFC title game last Sunday.
Wait, I thought the balls were in the possession of the referees from the point where they checked them all the way up until kickoff? But now we're hearing that a Pats equipment guy had access to the balls AFTER they were inspected? How can the refs allow this to happen? They should know that you can't give the Pats the opportunity to venture up to and across that line that represents "The Rules", for the Patriot Way demands that the tread upon and over that line. The refs are there to make sure that (1) the rules are enforced; (2) the integrity of the game is protected; and (3) the Patriots are not in a position where they are tempted to cheat. Each and every one of those refs should be fired. It's a national travesty, a sham(e), and a disgrace.
Idk, I kinda like him. Don't recall him saying something outrageously wrong. Then again I don't really follow SEA pressers
I don't know if this is true but I think the balls stay in the refs locker room until game time when the ball boy takes them to the field. The problem is, it is being reported that the ball boy didn't go straight to the field. He went into another room before going to the field.
Wouldn't you think that if they had the video of him putting the pin in the ball, they would have already concluded their investigation?
That's not what they are saying in my opinion. What they likely have video of is the ball boy taking the balls into another room rather than straight out to the field. They likely don't have video of him in the room.
The balls stay with the refs until just before game time when they are given to the ball attendant and taken to the field, the attendant made a side trip.
Or they're leaking this on purpose. To pressure the locker attendant. Or to find out where the leak inside the NFL is. There's no real information in that "report". But there must be a reason for it.
Belichick is a mad genius, he made the attendant go to a room without a camera. My guess is that he has done a full FBI background check on him and trusts him not to say anything. Guy is a genius.
