I have the funniest feeling New England is gonna go down hard for this thing.

It just feels like it's coming. Bullshit press conference by Tom Brady caught in lies. Bellicheck holds a science press conference to cover his ass and basically get his word out before the investigation is done. No answers as to why the balls dropped in pressure. No answer as to why Indys footballs were fine and still within the legal limit.

Something tells me the NFL is gonna smash them hard. And I will be laughing my fuckin ass off at all the New England fans claiming victory right now hahaha

The Boston press maybe? Everyone else just laughed Bill and are asking, what about the Colts footballs?

This whole "blame the media" routine from some Pats fans is laughable. There's a real investigation going on, sparked by a sting operation.

To: The 6 New England states. From: The media. Re: Footballs. The NFL has an investigation going. We are covering it. Have a good day.

The potential problem with BB explanation is that Pats must've inflated the balls to 11.5 PSI or so... Then "artificially" raised level...
    Scott Hanson @ScottHanson · 1h1 hour ago
...by rubbing, prepping, etc... then officials would gauge 12.5, & balls would "naturally" regress to where they started. (1 PSI under).
    Scott Hanson @ScottHanson · 9m9 minutes ago
Questions still remain: 1) did Patriots only inflate balls to 11.5 before "artificial" 1 PSI added? 2) if we believe BB, were Pats'...
    Scott Hanson @ScottHanson · 8m8 minutes ago
...balls always "regressing to equilibrium" by halftime of games?

RT @EGarfs: NFL has never confirmed colts balls were tested. It's a rumor … It happened. Take it to the bank.

Jane McManus ‏@janesports 23m23 minutes ago
My dad is a materials specialist who gave me the physics lesson earlier this week. So I asked why the Colts balls were still good. Stumped.

    Tom E. Curran ‏@tomecurran 52m52 minutes ago
My own kid just texted, "Hope you enjoyed that roast session Bill gave you..."

Collin McCollough ‏@cmccollo 1h1 hour ago
There was exactly 1 intelligent question to ask here - why weren't Colts' balls deflated? No one at presser or on networks now asking that.

I thought he didn't know anything about balls and how they're prepared and all that in his pressed the other day?

    Lying liar lying.

Well I'll make a deal with you. I'll show up and take my licks *IF* that comes true.

I would have anyway... it's only fair after posting in your forum... but I gotta be honest, I don't see that press conference happening if this doesn't all go away. It would be the least strategic move BB ever made.

    @AndrewBrandt
Text from team exec: "So...the Patriots did their own investigation and they're clean. Shocker." Paranoia about NE runs high.

Comments like these are all over the Pats board. I actually feel a little bit bad for Pat fans because they want so badly to believe this most recent crap.

There are two things that do not bode well for the Patriots--silence from Kraft and Goodell. Do you think that if Bill and his cronies can "simulate" what happened in the last 24 hours that the NFL couldn't do the same thing, and officially put this thing to bed?

If Bill and the homers think this has in anyway explained how the New England Patriots had 11 football the were under inflated while the Colts footballs weren't, then they also believe that spy-gate was only about filming signals during games in front of 80,000. Oh wait they believe that crap too.

Okay, as a person with at least a minimal understanding of physics the "why weren't the Colts balls deflated" argument drives me nuts. THEY WERE they had to be by the basica laws to physics, the question is whether they were to as large a degree as the Patriots' footballs. The PSI would drop at least somewhat in all footballs tested in the 70's then used on a field in the 40s. The question of deflategate, is did the Patriots' footballs drop by an unnatural amount. Without knowing to what PSI the Colts' footballs were inflated before the game you can't tell if they dropped a similar amount. I'm not saying I don't think the Patriots tampered with the ball, I think they probably did, but rather that the level of inflation of the Colts' ball has nothing to do with the inflation levels of the Patriots' balls.

Or he's holding his press conference to delay the NFL investigation to at least get beyond the Super Bowl. If he now has some fancy science experiments and the league just says "you cheated" they are going to say "Hey, where are your fancy science experiments?"

Plus: it still doesn't explain how the colts balls didn't deflate, it doesn't explain why the 12 extra balls didn't deflate (assuming they were prepped the same as the game balls), it doesn't explain how after they pumped the balls back up at half they didn't deflate by the end of the game, it doesn't explain how Brady has said in the past he prefers to play with deflated balls but then said that he didn't realize that they were deflated during the game, etc. etc. etc.

If he really didn't do anything and he was confident he was going to be cleared why would he spend so much time on it at all? They've now held three press conferences and run "scientific experiments" to try and prove they haven't cheated...if they really didn't cheat wouldn't they just say "It's not true, so, yeah...not sure what else to tell you."

You go on thinking the Patriots are what they are because of 2 psi in a football and taping signals 80,000 people can plainly see ....

And it won't matter to me :)

    Something to also think about.

Let's say this is true and this is why the balls were under inflated by two pounds. Let's all just believe it for a second.

In this case, how many times were the balls being used by New England below the legal limit? If the temperature really did cause this drop, wouldn't it cause it every time games are played in cool weather.

So basically, Bellicheck just proved that they have had a competitive advantage for a long time with balls that's are consistently under inflated

Even if it was after the Super Bowl... if they find they did something wrong - then his career is over.

So my guess is he doesn't roll those dice unless he's convinced.

You realize taping signals was not the issue. If you are going to mount a defense, know WTF you talking about.

If someone told me page 90 would contain stuff like this... I would have been happy at page 1.
