Well Winston won't be on the board so it will be pretty much impossible to win now with a rookie QB. I've been an advocate of skipping out on a QB and look to rebuild the line. Not many people here like that idea though.

I do. It's well known to be a weak QB draft this year, so why not build up the line, draft some playmakers on offense and give Geno one more year to clean up his game. If he doesn't make big strides under Gailey, we can look for a QB in 2016 in what will (hopefully) be a better QB draft.

(btw someone on ESPN was saying that Geno Smith was a better draft prospect than either Mariota or Winston this year)

How many have we found over the last 15?

Put Chad on our 09-10 teams and what do you have?

A loss in the AFC Championship game when our defense fails us.

If the Bears want to get rid of Cutler bad enough we could make the playoffs with him and a stellar draft.

Are you saying this sarcastically? ....... because I can't think of a worse starting QB in the NFL right now than Cutler (unless maybe you include Manziel). Sorry but I'm in the camp that wants no part of Cutler.

Chad wins one of those games Sanchez played above his rim but missed opportunities that Chad wouldn't have.

I still don't understand why NFL fans think Cutler is any good. He has terrible footwork, mechanics, and accuracy... he's a below average QB who is severly overpaid...

    Which one?

The one where Manning picked apart our secondary or the one where Pittsburgh ran up the gut at will?

Because he gets paid like an elite QB.

I do not think that word means what you think it does.

Yet a significant upgrade over what we have now.

If the Bears give up draft picks for us to take him we could fill some other holes.

The vast majority of NFL fans know that Cutler is awful (especially Bears fans, go to one of their forums and you will see how desperate they are to get rid of him).

The one where Greene went down and Sanchez didn't have the answer would be fine, but also the one where Sanchez didn't do enough to keep the score close while the defense forgot how to tackle for the first thirty minutes would be an acceptable response as well.

The bears wouldn't give us picks to take him... That's just crazy to say.

Whoever has Cutler on their roster gets to pay his $15 mil guaranteed salary.

Yes, I do think the Bears would have to give up picks or players to be rid of him.

I understand the money part, but I think the bears would want some mid round picks for a QB.

As great as a player/prospect as Shelton may be, the Jets have absolutely no need or use for him. They have need at OT, but Clemmings has looked like a pretty surefire bust or at best a long-term project at the Senior Bowl. I wouldn't touch him until at least the 4th round. IMO you don't take an OG at #6, so Sheriff/Scherrf isn't an option. There's not another WR worthy of being the #6 pick. That leaves only two, Mariota and Ray. I'd be deliriously happy with either. I've been screaming for a topflight OLB prospect for 10 years, moreso than most other Jets fans. It's still BIG need, and Ray behind our DL could elevate our D to a top 10 D. If they can solve the CB and FS issues, it could become an elite D, a consistent top two. It's a critical pick. Unless you have serious concerns about Mariota being a bust, if he's there, imo you have to take him. You can't win with just D and a mediocre offense. We've been there, done that, failed. The only surefire way to become a consistent winner is with a franchise QB. If there's a guy there with the talent, football intelligence and potential to become a franchise QB, you have to roll the dice and take him.
