I would be shocked if one of those guys drop to us...

IMO Shane Ray will be our pick

Raiders wont let Cooper slide to us.. The Wiz wont be able to resist taking Winston and Mariota will go #1.

If Shane Ray is there, sprint to the podium and take him. If he's gone and Gregory is too, then take Andrus Peat.

Shane Ray looks like he is playing at a higher level than Gregory.

Trading down would be good at that point unless the Jets really like one of the edge rushers. Trading down to the mid-teens and landing one of the WR's wouldn't be a bad call. Trading down into the 20's for Scherrf as well.

After the combine and pro day I'm seeing Devonte Parker from Louisville being a possibility at 6 guy is an athletic freak. Would not be disappointed if we took him.

I would take Devante Parker at 6 before White. But in round 2 I would scoop up White over DGB.

If we got white or DGB in the second round I would be stoked.

I wouldn't want to touch Mariota just another disaster at QB waiting to happen.

Yeah he is an athlete but that doesn't mean anything about being a great QB . He was a system QB playing in a gimmick offense.

What about his game that doesn't translate to the NFL?

If no QB in the first Sean Mannion is my mid to late round choice of QB's.

Is the guy at 6 better than the guy at 18 this year? Especially with our variety of needs. It would depend on what we could get for a 6. Can we get another 2. We really could use another good draft pick, especially if we keep Harvin.

I have watched him at SB practice. Does not move well and his release looks real slow

That's why it's a mid to late round draft. He's not a mobile QB but he reads defenses well, has a pretty strong arm to make all the throws, he's accurate and football smart. He needs some mechanical work. He's not mobile but there are a lot of successful NFL QB's who aren't mobile. Give me a non mobile pocket passer vs a mobile guy who struggles in the pocket any day of the week.

Fair enough. Arm strength and accuracy are musts. I am interested to see him in the game today. I do not watch a ton of college football. A lot of these guys are strangers to me.

He's not a sure thing, but IMHO 10 years ago he would have been considered for the 2nd or 3rd round before the fad of having to have a mobile QB became vogue. If he was a sure thing he'd be a first round candidate.

Just following up on that thought, in my mind he's a lot like Mettenberger from last years draft, a little less arm zip but better reading of defenses.
