decent cover guy? bwahhahahaha he might be the very worst cover LB in the history of football. he is as slow as they come. 1987 called, they want their LB back. Fuck him

Lets stop with the mediocre shit and get real play-makers who can lead us to a SB. If all goes well with the new regime and we are contending in 3 years or so, where will Harris be? not on our team hopefully

Jets might very well sign a lot of FA's, so they may not get comp picks if that is the case.

He needs to come off the field on passing downs

I didn't say he was Revis in coverage but he is without question a top 25 middle linebacker in the NFL,Most sites have him ranked 23 rd, Demario Davis is ranked in the 50s out of a list of 60 middle line backers.Unless we have a viable replacement in mind I don't see the point of not bringing him back......That worked out amazingly well with Revis when we replaced him with Millner....who half of the fanbase wanted to trade

He's disasterous in coverage. He's slow and aging. Use the eye test. And you're comparing letting him go to letting Revis go? Come on dude. If Harris gets a handsome contract offer, you let him go. No second thoughts.

Harris has been one of my favorite Jets for a while but he's been a liability in pass coverage the past couple seasons. Davis should be able to take the reigns as best LB from him. ILB is definitely a need in either Free Agency or this upcoming draft.

    Harris tackles.
He doesn't cover anyone or anything.
    He doesn't pass rush
He doesn't get many tackles behind the line.
That sums it up, lets over pay for his old, slow ass! What a way to keep rebuilding!
Let him walk!! He was never anything but a solid run stopper.
I got sick of watching teams burn him in the passing game. A total liability in coverage, especially this past season. We need an injection of speed and youth in his place.
Bart Scott was better than him, and he even became a liability.

The same guys who bitched about not signing Cro all year (after a terrible 2013) don't want Harris back. You can't replace those tackles. If he leaves what about something they call run defense. You complained about not spending your cap surplus. Well now you got double that. I'd pay but not overpay him.

It doesn't matter how much the tag is, he isn't worth the average of the top five salaries at his position, and no team would trade for him if he was carrying that cost. It was a ridiculous suggestion from all angles.

No tag that's for sure. But an above average salary for his position. If not for him last year no run D.
