So suppose the NFL comes to the conclusion that it was the refs that screwed up the ball check at the beginning? Do you think they would ever admit it?

Doesn't the Constitution prohibit cruel and unusual punishment?

I think no matter what the truth is... Goodell is looking for an escape and doesn't have one.

Shame on you...One of the Jets brightest stars..numerous winning seasons.. Won our only SB in 1969. 173 TDs 27,663 yds. Played in pain most of his career. Inducted into HOF 1985. If he was a young guy again the Jets would be winners. Can't believe you are part of GG or call yourself a fan

I saw him try to score once... it was impressive...

he was wasted on MNF and it was Suzy Kolber... but I felt it almost happened.

All kidding aside... he's still the face of the Franchise in a lot of ways.

“Things are going to be fine — this isn’t ISIS,” Brady said. “No one’s dying.”

That statement is currently haunting him because its everywhere.

sure seems like the NFL's plan is to drag their feet, keep the SB money machine uninterrupted, and pray like hell that NE doesn't win.

    it's a terrible plan..

BB was a good ST coordinator and a great D coordinator. Since then, he's had a long run as HC, has worked in the O coordinator role, as well as GM. He is as experienced and well rounded as a coach as you can possibly be. I don't think you can call him a 'D guy'.

in terms of HC, he won 11 games with Cassel, and had things going in the right direction in Cleveland.
he had assembled quite a staff in Cle, had an 11 win season, beat the Parcells led Patriots in a playoff game, and started Cleveland's last season at 3-1. Then Modell announced the team moving, and the whole season/franchise fell apart. If Modell stays put, i believe they were embarking on something special there.

i would agree though he needed a good solid QB who bought in completely, in order to have the type of sustained success he's had in NE.
they were able to rebuild the team w/o missing much of a beat. You need a QB in order to do that. So in many ways, it's a symbiotic relationship between Belichick and Brady, but i don't think Brady would have amounted to much w/o BB.

in either event, both their downfalls will involve that shared sense of hubris.
i want the league to suspend BB immediately, and see if that will shake out some truth from the Pats org. i think they'll turn on each other real quick if it means saving their own legacy.

Did you see him play? The numbers come nowhere close to telling the Namath story or are a gauge to what kinda player he was. It was different era. You can't compare it. 'Bear' Bryant said Namath was the best athlete he ever coached. That defeat of was one greatest upsets in Sports history...Joe slayed Goliath that day. Nobody knew how good they were or how good Joe was

MY god what a crock you have written up there to try to protect cheaters. because even if the refs screwed up they are playing with illegal footballs and were caught

It should haunt him, being how it's an incredibly asinine thing to say. He is practically admitting that cheating isn't a big deal.
