Only junc can claim that it is a fact that a team that is 2-4 in conference play is "one of best BE teams".

ohhh so now they suck but when 'Nova beat them they were great. Got it.

I guess DePaul must be the best team in the BE since they lead w/a 5-2 record?

Villanova is the best team in the Big East.

When did I say St. John's was "great"?

St. John's woke from a sleep walking 1st half and opened the 2nd half by blowing past St. Mary's with a 27-8 run and holding St. Mary's to----are you ready?---14 points in the 2nd half. Going into that game St. Mary's had a 99-28 non-WCC Conference record.

If "you are what your record is," up and down St. John's (with their 2-4 Big East record) apparently is not one of the best Big East teams esp. given their loss to DePaul and in spite of their impressive road win at Providence, a team that's 3-0 vs. the ACC beating FSU, Miami as well as Notre Dame, a team that beat North Carolina at North Carolina. Speaking of North Carolina, aren't they 0-1 vs. the Big East? St. John's has a very short bench and with their one reliable scorer D'Angelo Harrison injured, look for them to get waxed by Duke, the same Dookies who beat Wisconsin on the road. Lastly, St. John's - Gonzaga was a 3 point game in the last 30 seconds. "Having to foul" FT's deceptively padded the score at the end (to those that didn't see the game).

With all due respect, you're not really familiar with the Big East other than to mock & troll (e.g. Seton Hall "crowd size" etc.), so maybe it would be best to stick to front running with megabudget State U's in a mostly out of region conference. Maybe a Panthers message board would offer more in the way of kindred spirits. :D

but they don't have the best record, how can that be?

joe: they were in a 3 pt game in the final 15 seconds. I don't care what they did in the 2nd half. One of the best BE teams struggled w/ the team that Gonzaga just throttled.

I am very familiar w/ the BE, they had a few nice wins but are crashing back to reality now. if there is more than 1 team in the Sweet 16 it will be a shock.

Because Depaul has played one more conference game than Villanova.

You nicely ducked my other question. When did I say that St. John's was a "great" team?

Britt may be out tomorrow and Pinson has a broken bone in his foot and is out indefinitely. The hits keep on coming.

I think defending the integrity of the sport is very classy and noble.

I never lodged a defense for Coach K for any of the allegations you brought up. I would not be qualified to do so. I just said that he does well in his role as an ambassador to the game.

Do NOT misinterpret my confusion regarding the hatred that Coach K draws as any love for Duke University. Please.

you fall prey to the media version of K. all you have to do is pay attention to see what he is really like and what he has done to the game.

Is he a great coach? of course, one of the best of all time.
