What if the back up lights up the seahawks? Brady loses steam in the organization as we'll hear forever of how great BB is in winning a Superbowl without him with a lot of drama on his back.

I'm really enjoying watching Pats fans jump through intellectual and logical (well . . . not so logical) hoops in order to justify cheating. It's fun.

Nice. Palo Alto. Although, I have been spending more time on the east coast as of late because of my job.

    Palo Alto - Nice(er).

Yeah I just moved back here after a year in NYC on the UWS. I never want to go back. I'm wearing flip flops to take my dog to the park today. And I haven't had a mosquito bite here even once in the summer. It's truly paradise.

This is essentially my take, as well. It sounds like Brady likes his footballs "a certain way" and was willing to have individuals on the Pats staff make sure that his wishes were full-filled.

+ 1. I feel the same way. I originally grew up in Jersey, but initially moved to San Diego as a young adult. I have been in love with California ever since. Unfortunately, next year I am headed back to graduate school, and likely won't have the option of west coast living :(

Obviously after, seeing how they verified the PSI prior to the game.

So the question is, is this turning into shady inflation process or does Shefter have the wrong feel on the pulse of this? Schefter has not tweeted a single thing related to this yet outside of stating that if it were the Titans or Jags it never would have been a story and that

Who ever thought ESPN would devote more time to inflation than CNBC?

^ that tells me he thinks its ridiculous and a non story. Or maybe my wishful thinking.

Maybe all of those "weather experts" are onto something? Obviously this could be as premature pointing to innocence as the Mort leak was premature to proving guilt.

This is a complete 180 on the story and also why the investigation should be completed before the death sentence is given.

There is also a theory that Mort had the numbers wrong, during BB's presser he stated a drop from 12.5 to 12.3, what's unknown is are those arbitrary numbers or the official numbers, meaning Mort misheard 2 from .2, we simply don't know.

Not sure. And this is where I am reserving judgement until we hear more. But, I find it silly for people to pretend that: If this was orchestrated by someone in the Pats organization (whether it be a player, coach, or equipment manager) that it somehow wasn't cheating or somehow does not warrant a punishment .

Just want to clarify, if guilty, I know myself and most level headed pats fans believe we should be punished, but those punishments need to be within reason. Going from a slap on the wrist for the Vikings and whoever else to suggesting suspensions and loss of draft picks is way out of hand.

League policy says 25k with potential for more. Going from 25k to a draft pick is pretty steep no matter how you look at it.

I hear ya, but the Pats have a well established history of being accused of (and in the case of spygate, being caught red-handed in) circumventing league rules to gain a competitive advantage.

Thanks, I can point fingers just as good as you guys can. This thread is a textbook showing of mental gymnastics.

There's no way this is bullshit.

    1. Why would the report be released saying the NFL is "upset and disappointed" with the results of the tests.

    2. Why were the balls replaced at halftime if there was just a 0.2 difference in air?

    3. How could Jackson and the Colts staff notice a drop in air pressure to report if it was only a 0.2 difference? Thats impossible.

    4. Why would all of these high profile ex players go on record saying they deserve a just punishment and more than Bountygate if this were all speculation?

    5. Why would Tom Brady address his team and say he likes his footballs a certain way if this were all bullshit?

There's too many questions that point this as non bullshit.

No not at all. This is just about common sense. 11/12 balls? Common sense tells you something went on.
