Look, I'm just being realistic. While yesterday this seemed like the end of the world because you had the everyone piling onto the team everyone loves to pile onto... Someone might take heat for this.... but if they do, it sounds like it will be minimal like a fine or something. But most likely, nothing happens here because it's due to the Ref not checking properly at the beginning of the game.

I think most likely this ends up being a 36 hour media hysteria event driven by the hate of the Patriots. I think it may eventually get looked at as a false charge and actually get BB off the hook for spy gate more than anything else over the last 7 years.

You didn't answer the question. What is bogus about 11/12 footballs underinflated?

i think that what he is hinting at is that the NFL has yet to actually confirm this.

so NE cheated against Baltimore and the NFL was aware?

But obviously Belichick and everyone else in the organization had no idea.

Roger Gooddell doesn't go hard on the Patriots, but he threatens to suspend Marshawn Lynch from the NFC Title game if he wears gold colored shoes.

I'm fairly certain that they had to be under inflated. If you pump them to 12.5 PSI, how can they not deflate even by .01 PSI? It's possible, even though I don't believe this, that Mort was wrong about the 2 PSI.

I think that report is complete BS. 1) Harbaugh is denying it 2) Why would they allow that to potentially effect the AFCCG? 3) If the Patriots were aware, wouldn't they be careful to properly inflate the balls to avoid this?

I was reading on a pats board that Mort was saying it was .2 PSI and he reported it as 2PSI. It seems like it is grasping at straws, but I am not sure what the expect at this point.

    it does sound strange

with regards to 3, it could be the Patriots didn't know others had caught on

obviously if they knew someone was looking for it, they wouldn't try it

I'm not surprised at all that this happened

Agreed. That would be a fairly major error on his part.

Doesn't matter. Brady will deny everything and play ball as if nothing happened.

Well all 12 were under inflated. It just seems more likely 12 balls were prepared exactly the way he liked them... and the Refs let them pass without being to spec than it seems plausible someone was over on the sidelines with a needle in their hand.

And now since we have other QB's saying they routinely do this to see if the Refs complain - you can see how this fizzles into a non story... which I think is happening right now.

This is probably because of my bias as a Jets fan and my hatred of the Pats but I hope the NFL finds them guilty and comes down hard on them. It's just false hope though because I don't see Goodell doing that to Kraft.

Prob best stance for pats to take. Prove it.

Someone is going to have to admit footballs were intentionally deflated in order for anything major to come from this, from the league.

Bb passed the buck to Brady, let's see what Brady says (he already said "I think I've heard it all now.") makes since for him to continue the "I was as surprised as anyone". He should get hammered with questions concerning the fact that he handles the football on every snap.

Regardless, this is one more cheating controversy to add to a plethora of other allegations; 'cheating' will always be associated with patriots, bb and Brady

He also cant say he didn't notice a difference after the deflation was corrected.

    "The Patriots are habitual line-steppers"

"What I'm going to say about the deflating of the balls, to me there is no difference than performance-enhancing drugs. You are cheating at that point. You are getting a competitive advantage outside of the rulebook and there has to be some sort of consequences for that."

    -Chris Canty

I said something similar in this thread yesterday and I completely agree w/ Canty.

Let's be real here for a second? Let's forget who we are fans of? Do you or don't you think somebody did something to balls from NE? Use common sense.
