If this is how the top 5 plays out, then the Jets have a simple decision to make. If they believe in Mariota, take him. If not, give Chip Kelly a call.
If that is what actually happens on draft day, I will jump for joy. There's no way they don't take Mariota in that situation. Unless, of course, they feel he isn't a franchise QB. In which case I will start a movement to get big Mac fired. Billboards and all. (Only joking...or is he????)

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but recently a lot of reputable draftniks/analysts are mocking MM to us.
Getting a young, instant starter at QB in Nick Foles along with an additional 2nd rounder this year and probably a 1st in 2016 (plus probably another pick somewhere) would be a pretty damn good consolation prize if the Jets don't like Mariota
I guarantee you Chip Kelly knows enough about Mariota to not throw the house for him. Hopefully we don't waste a pick on him either
I have enough confidence in Mac's scouting background to trust that if Mariota's there and we pass, that there‘s something he's seen in the guy that isn't right. If that were to happen, aside from the Rams Kelly might not even have to move to get him.

If the Jets have any faith in Mariota as a franchise QB, then selecting him is an easy decision. Since I dont think he's anything special, I would call everyone in sight and see if we can unload the pick and get 2-4 extra picks.
