actually i wanted herm gone after he proved that he wasnt any good. and that was proven to be correct when he went to kc and drove them into the ground. i didnt hate groh, i didnt hate mangini but thought he had alot to get better at. and i didnt hate rex. the only guys i really couldnt stand since i have been on this board are herm and sanchez. i thought other guys made bad decisions, did certain things poorly or it was time for them to go. rex did some retarded shit i took exception to and his teams have gone down hill for 4 years so it was time to go. however the only 2 i couldnt fucking stand were herm and sancho. sancho i had a feeling would suck when we drafted him. herm proved it over the first couple years. so you can go shit in your hat.
yep, Herm took over a franchise that hadn't won a playoff game since Joe Montana, only been to the playoffs twice since Joe Montana and led them to playoffs but he ran them into the ground Herm and Mark helped us win a lot of games and make many playoff apps. were they great? Nope but I have an appreciation for those that have helped my team win. do you really need to pollute the board w/ silly cursing? it's bad enough you pollute it w/ terrible posts.
We did beat the Jaguars in '98 and went to the AFC Championship game that year. Just to set the facts straight. Herm was a good coach. He did take over a team that had been successful recently and he was the beneficiary of 4 1st round picks the year before he took over + a 2nd rounder named Laveranues Coles. Then the team got run into the ground by age and the inability to retain young players and the whole thing collapsed. The idea that Herm took over a weak team and they flourished is wrong. He took over a middle of the pack team that then found out they had a QB named Chad Pennington and two pass rushers named John Abraham and Shaun Ellis gifted to them by the previous administration and they flourished. If you can put together a good QB and a pass rush you're going to win more than you lose. That's a fundamental truth.
