I'm not talking responsibility. I'm just assuming Brady doesn't have to check with big bill on everything. Did he learn how to 'skirt' the rules from him - of course. But does he get his approval for every decision he makes - i doubt it.
1000% disagree. If these charges are found to be true, then you better believe that the NFL will be in some bind about what to do if they win the SB. The media will completely try to taint their title. They won't applaud the team for cheating to win a SB, that makes no sense. The NFL is praying that the Pats lose the SB as that will take some of the luster off this story, however the story will remain to be a huge black cloud over the league and their franchise.
Well considering Aaron Rodgers said just yesterday that he overinflated their footballs and then the refs took air out of them - it seems perfectly reasonable that "the game" is to put the balls like you like them and let the refs decide what's ok... as the rules and procedure state. If they manipulated the balls after the fact, that's a different story. I feel pretty consistent on this - and fair.
Considering there's a thread in here where the Patriots are called cheaters for lining up in weird formations I'm gonna just wait to see what the official word is. Like everything else in the media - I don't trust it yet.
Aaron Rodgers commented on this yesterday? Can you post a link? If the Referees checked the balls 2 hours prior to the game (and they were the correct psi), and then Brady or someone else on the Patriots altered the balls, it would clearly be violating the rulebook whether or not the referees subsequently noticed the altered balls.

I agree with this. With everything out in the open before the game is played, it's just going to lead to a shit storm for eternity if they win this game. Ten-fold when you consider what a disaster this year has already been for the NFL front office.

Designed play into fooling defense into thinking a tackle is WR, worked exactly how it was designed. This is how we should play the game, find loopholes and exploit weaknesses in the rulebook to 'legally' secure advantage. A proud tradition you guys have up there. I wonder why we never saw the formation before and why BB is the first to introduce it? ...he must be smarter than everyone else lol
I'm not sure whether "the game" as you like to call it is how the league operates and expects it's processes to be followed. I really don't think the league is saying--"do whatever you want and if we catch you we'll just fix it". Besides, Rogers doing it too is irrelevant to whether the Patriots are world class scumbag cheaters. To be fair. _
