Spiller/Ivory would be awesome...best teams GB and Seattle have Ivory clones

CJ?k may or may not be cut.
    Powell will probably be gone.
Looks like we're signing Spiller. I'd ride it out with Spiller/Ivory and a late round draft pick..or one of Johnson/Powell as the #3 back.
If the Spiller/Ivory backfield doesn't produce we could start over and draft a stud at the position like Ezekiel Elliot next draft. That kid is going to be special.

IMO.. Ivory is staying. Johnson will be Cut. And Powell will be resigned (I hope) Powell never really got his chance to shine but when he is in the game he produces in the running game and he is a great blocker.. Also I say we get spiller.. If we do not land Spiller I think it is a must to target our rivals Shane Vereen. The patriots have locked up several running backs going into next season but Vereen is still a free agent and it looks like he will hit the open market. he is the best pass catcher out of the backfield in my opinion and I would just as soon have him than spiller. Vereen would be cheaper too.

While Gailey is quite versatile, he does seem to work well with shiftier backs, as opposed to power guys. Again, he has shown the ability to adapt, so maybe he goes in that direction, but I would expect them to add another Harvin type somewhere (WR, RB) and keep Harvin.

So did Tiki Barber when he came into the league. That can be fixed. If his injury hasn't robbed him of speed or cutting ability, he is a great back, a homerun threat, and has great hands. Either Abdullah or Duke Johnson would be awesome in the Jets' backfield. I don't recall if Gurley's a good receiver or not, but if his injury hasn't curtailed his talent significantly, he would be an awesome addition as well. It's not a priority, so I will be surprised if any of them are taken by the Jets, but they would be great additions.

I think Spiller will be picked up, Chris Johnson will be cut, Bilal Powell as a UFA will be signed by another team (Bills?) and the Jets will draft a RB in the middle rounds.

    So it will be Spiller/Ivory/Rookie.

Vereen also has a fumbling problem, right? If so, the Jets would need to focus on fixing that. The last thing they need is to add a RB who coughs up the ball. I didn't realize that Abdullah has that problem, but the Jets would need to think long and hard about taking Abdullah and have a plan to correct that problem.

Maybe that's why they deflate the balls.

the beauty of Chan Gailey is he is not one dimensional. yeah he likes the spread and a quick backfield but I don't think he is going to not give ivory his reps or want him cut (which makes no sense to do) If you listed to Bowles today he talked a little about the running game and how he wanted to have a great running attack.. ivory will be involved heavily

Given Ivory and Spiller's injury history, I think it makes a lot of sense to keep Powell and Richardson.

This is the way I'd like to go. Ivory is a very good back and Powell is an ideal reserve and spot player. This draft is loaded with RBs from Day 2 through early Day 3. I'd love to see the Jets add someone like Duke Johnson, Ameer Abdullah, Jay Ajayi, Jeremy Langford or Buck Allen.

Guess with Gailey as OC, can't rule out Spiller either, but I wouldn't want to see them pay too much for him

Lord help anyone that thinks Ivory should be/will be cut. That's just absurd. For that price, he's a bargain. He can carry the ball 15 times a game and be as productive as guys getting paid double. I for one am looking forward to having an OC that will know how to use him.

The most ideal scenario would be letting Powell walk, cutting Johnson and pairing Ivory with Spiller. Or drafting Duke Johnson or Ayaji to give us that power running, pass catching combo in the backfield.

Sounds like a plan to me. You don't just discard one of your better players. Fill the other roster spots with the draft

The RBs are fine, the O-line needs fixing.

You think journeyman Thomas Jones found the magic elixir in East Rutherford's drinking water?

btw, Ivory was one of the hardest playing dudes on the field last season and should be going nowhere.

Get rid of CJ No K, sign Spiller and keep Powell and I'd be happy. It would be a good backfield.
