Men's: Djokovic about even money to win then Federer, Nadal, Murray Women's: Serena about 3/1 to win then Sharapova, Kvitova, Halep Will be interesting to see how far the Australian prodigies get this year. Tomic and Kyrgios.
^^^ she's a babe Matt. As is Alexander Ovechkin's former fiance Maria Kirlenko (who pulled the plug on their engagement): Men: Juan del Potro withdraws - wrist injury still not 100%. This poor guy (who beat Fed in the 2009 U.S. Open final) has been snakebit health-wise.
It'll be weird as I won't have to be up at 2 AM to watch any of these matches, it'll be on early morning but I think Australia is about 4 hours ahead of Taipei
Wawrinka won last year, breaking the top 4 group. Maybe we get another surprise? Rooting for Fed as always. He's come close a few times to winning another GS but hasn't broken through. Never know though.
Ivanovic lost Tomic won 3 young aussie males also won in 5 sets krygios, duckworth , kokkinakis 147 beat gubuis ranked 11 7/13 aussies won
Panova chokes and Shriekapova survives. I liked Darren Cahill's post-match candor referring to her shrieking bullshit by saying that he (even outside the stadium) could hear her shrieking but more to the point made mention of the 'length' of her shrieking saying that it extends to when her opponent's hitting the ball and that it's borderline hinderence, and that she does it when things get tight (i.e. implying that it's calculated). Nice ass but her shrieking is a total turnoff.
Sharapova had to save two match points on Panova's serve, but she got the break with some big forehands, and then didn't lose another game. 7-5 final set. Federer down a break to Bolelli
Dudi Sela has a raucous supporting section on Court 7. Must be some Israelis in Australia. They're making quite a racket! Sela won the first set tiebreak after being down an early break in the first set. The tiebreak was 7-2, and the only 2 points he dropped were on his own serve.
rafa in a tough 5 sets, kyrios thru to 3rd, groth vs tomic in all aussie 3rd round, at least 1 aussue into 4th round
The American qualifier Tim Smyczek from Milwaukee who played Rafa tooth and nail for 4+ hours was a class act. When Rafa was about to hit a serve some numbnutz near courtside screamed out and Rafa bricked the serve. Smyczek told the ump to "play two" and this was at crunch time late in the 5th set - very sporting gesture by the Yank. I also liked the cheesehead's comments saying how bummed out he was at the Packers losing last Sunday.
Federer just lost the first two sets to Seppi probably an early exit for Roger tonight, normally so reliable in the early rounds of majors
Federer loses a 4th set tiebreak and he's done. He was -3000 Really struggled with his serve tonight. Even if he got by Seppi, someone was going to take him out before the semis.
